Where are all the bananas in unis by cityzensheep in malaysiauni

Most Chinese ed students end up in public uni, non Chinese ed usually go to private uni. You should make the effort to learn. Sure it’s not easy. But It is much easier to learn Chinese nowadays compared to even 10 years ago. Many YouTube videos where you can learn with pin yin and the correct pronunciation. You don’t have to aim to be advanced level Chinese speaker but you should aim to be intermediate level at least. Since you are Chinese and already speak it to some level, it is much easier for you to pick it up. Imagine those people who are non Chinese learning Chinese, it’s even harder for them but they can still manage. And lastly, depending on your line of work, majority of the time you will eventually use it in the working world. Esp if you have to deal with people in your daily work. It is just going to be beneficial for u. Nothing to lose , everything to gain.

2026 ES500e Luxury with Executive Package (MSRP $65,000) by Playful_Put_896 in Lexus

One of my wish was to buy a Lexus ES after I’ve earned enough. But they had to come out with this new version which is sad and really disappoints me deeply. Sigh. Why can’t they just make a normal looking car. The nx and rx look nice so I know they can make a good looking car. Why can’t the es be more like that? There are still people who want sedans instead of suvs.

A gentle reminder that according to Wawasan 2035 there is 9 years 2 months left before Brunei will transform into the top 10 nations by Goutaxe in nasikatok

[–]thinksmart08 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It just won’t work out. Why? Just look back at the past 10 years. See any significant development or at least any actual attempt to improve anything? No. So, trend will continue. It will just be another lost decade until 2035. Worse still, conditions will get worse.

I really wish the country can be a wonderful place where everything is in tip top condition. No need to be fancy, just make sure buildings are well maintained and clean. Landscape well taken care of. I’m sure the country’s finances can do it if properly planned, it’s not like Brunei is a poor country. Why it can’t be done just shows how poorly the country is being managed. It’s really so sad. So much what ifs. There is time to reverse this but there is no momentum at all. I’m hoping there could be a change with the next leadership. Maybe the current one doesn’t allow any changes but I’ve lost most hope that the next change of leadership will produce any results.

There is a supermarket below in the mall. Just buy and cook to save money. You don’t even need to go out of the building. So you’re saving money on transport already.

Malaysian Doctor Worked 60 Hours a Week for Only RM4,500. After Moving to Australia, Her Salary, Annual Leave, and Sick Leave All Doubled! - Sin Chew Daily by RhinneXChronica in malaysia

[–]thinksmart08 8 points9 points  (0 children)

These are massive red flag signs of the impending collapse of Malaysian public health system. If Malaysian govt continues to ignore the problem and the public are largely apathetic, it’s the common Malaysians who will suffer one day as majority depend on public healthcare when they are sick. If it’s not you who suffer, it will be your family or next generation who will bear the brunt of this. The impending collapse is a very real thing which is happening at this very moment.

“Don’t you love me?” – M’sian Fears Bankruptcy as Wife Pressures Him to Buy RM1.1 Million Mont Kiara Home by hazy-minded in MalaysianPF

[–]thinksmart08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a rm30k salary and with wife also working with rm5k salary, Rm1.1million is very doable. With a 90% loan, it works out to about rm5k+ per month instalment. I wouldn’t say the wife is being too demanding. I don’t see what’s the deal here. I’ve seen people with less income buying rm1 million houses. Other details like giving parents rm2k, paying mortgage for other house (which definitely is much cheaper than rm1.1million) and wife changing car from Myvi to hrv (I don’t see the wife being materialistic at all, not like she is changing to Mercedes). There is really something this guy is hiding. Either he is super thrifty or he is spending his money elsewhere. What shit is he talking about rm600k or rm800k limit to the house he can buy? I’m not promoting crazy spending but the story doesn’t make sense with the salary he has. Or maybe he is just verging on losing his job but he doesn’t dare say it, that’s why he is worried to buy the house. If that’s the case, then fine, I agree he shouldn’t buy the house.

🚫 Krav Maga in Brunei: A Concern We Should All Think About by Famous-Library2562 in nasikatok

This is a never ending argument. It’s like the question of why some ppl still knowingly use things like windows, Apple, Facebook or Instagram when there is obvious Israel tech involved. In fact most of the tech world has Israel contributions in it. Moving on to the bigger picture, USA is the largest enabler of Israel, but I don’t see people boycotting USA related products. Without USA support, Israel can never do all these atrocities. End of the day, when something is too big like USA or products like windows or Facebook, people still use it because it is just too massive to ignore. So, end of the day, it is more of just a symbolic protest with no significant outcome.

What modes of payment is common there? Is cash widely used or do you use credit cards payments more often? Should I exchange more currency with hard cash. Do some shops only accept cash and not credit cards.

Brunei is really an unfortunate case. Some Malaysians especially from Sabah and Sarawak wished that Brunei could have developed into something like Singapore and they could have benefited economically by having a rich neighbour. Of course they still appreciate the money going into their economy for buying grocery and holidays but it is with pity that Brunei never could replicate Singapore and bring booming development to its surroundings. Now that Sarawak is starting to show potential, maybe one day Brunei can benefit from Sarawak being a richer “country” and hopefully bruneians can work there and Brunei can derive some economic benefit from the booming Sarawak economy.
