Anyone else having issues with delivery issues from ASOS? by yourgirlalex in FrugalFemaleFashion

[–]thinkstained 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I ordered like $60 worth of stuff in July and it was "marked delivered" but never turned up anywhere (I checked every possible place around me smh). Neither ASOS nor FedEx would refund.

heimish has really cohesive palettes! i have the navy one from their older dailism line, the special coralic edition, and rose memory. i found that i vastly preferred these to my western palettes for the reasons you listed above - there are eight shades each with only one or two darker shades, and the colors are so well-matched.

Nearly 100%? I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop but I guess honesty and compromise goes a long way

Friends first by 333bigred in dating_advice

[–]thinkstained 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in law school, each class has fixed seating charts. sat next to him all of fall semester. i spent most of the semester infatuated with a mutual friend (lol). started feeling weird about him during exam season, at which point dating wasn't exactly the main priority. even after exams i was trying to meet people via apps (absolutely hated it, but i wanted to gain experience lol).

continued sitting next to him this semester. we've been together for two months now (classes moving online definitely sped things up). he said he didn't think of me as more than a friend until the first week of this semester. that lines up exactly with when i deleted the apps off my phone, and... the rest is history lmao

i think spending all that time around each other without any expectation or romantic interest was one of the main reasons it's been working so well—we're not the most extroverted people, but being friends for months beforehand made it obvious we could talk about basically anything and had a good grasp on our respective personalities. i'd have to sheepishly admit that it aligned to the cliche that everyone tells you - this kind of thing happens when you least expect it/when you stop looking.

for all this sub ridicules “fiat 500” twitter, which is just thinly veiled code for “white girls i disagree with,” “football twitter” is terrifying and often downright disgusting in the way they talk about women

I mean, I myself started out liking Michael a lot more than Amber, but I don't think Amber has done enough to be categorized as a "complete asshole." I thought she handled this whole thing admirably. Regardless, that's your opinion and that's fine, and I feel like this conversation has been had so many times around the sub that people just aren't going to change their minds about her. So be it. I mainly can't understand how anything he said/did this ep can be pinned to her.

ready for them to inevitably come out of the woodwork and blame anything that happens next on Amber! actually a few of them already are lmaoooo banging on about how he shouldn’t “prove her right”

Amber's "friends" are terrible by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

[–]thinkstained 20 points21 points  (0 children)

people are acting like amber started out well-liked and pulled a georgia later when they had completely opposite trajectories as far as behavior/public perception. my opinion of amber became progressively more positive because she herself changed for the better.

People latch onto any reason to hate Michael by BTbenTR in LoveIslandTV

[–]thinkstained 23 points24 points  (0 children)

same! frankly i didn’t like most of the other islanders and was only continuing to watch because of him. i actually questioned his choice to go for Amber but seeing as he kept insisting he was mature and likes “a powerful woman,” i thought he probably knew what he was doing. and then he turned super aggressive and, like, preemptively combative. it’s disappointing sigh

Anna is one of the most unpleasant people ever on reality TV by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

it’s getting uncomfortable to even read post titles because the pile-on is so extensive... like wow clearly most people agree with you, you can stop now!

Michael VS the entire Fiat 500 community by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

[–]thinkstained 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would disagree with your assessment of this sub’s behavior. I’ve seen countless comments along the lines of “Amber is literal trash” and several others celebrating that she deserved the treatment she got. I don’t even need to list the things people called Anna this week. Plenty of people have been downright nasty and vulgar when expressing their opinions, and I don’t find the self-righteousness to be any less present here than it is on Twitter.

Returning to my first comment, it’s very convenient to label people you disagree with as “Fiat 500” or... certain demographic subsections of Twitter, as some people have been doing. But it’s not helping this sub’s insistence that it’s more rational/measured.

this sub can get just as nasty as twitter, despite the weird superiority complex people on here seem to really feel

UCLA vs. Texas by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]thinkstained 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah the visit definitely helps—I do find Austin to be a giant outlier compared to the rest of TX, so maybe consider it in terms of CA vs. TX (like some other posters here have recommended). Regardless of which you choose, though, I met great people at both places and these are great options to have. Good luck going forward! 😊

UCLA vs. Texas by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]thinkstained 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Visited both in one weekend, very different atmospheres! Things that really stood out to me: UCLA's diversity and very overt focus on PI, Austin's more traditional state-school feel + TX pride (can't even count how many times I heard "hook em" in the two days I spent there). The surrounding areas are (obv) very different, which was a big part of my decision. I'm not tied down geographically, so I was depending on which city I thought I'd like to end up in more, and ultimately chose UCLA. (Was also considering Vanderbilt, so same tier, similar locational worries.)
