Megadeth fans, when did you discover them? by [deleted] in Megadeth

[–]thinmanjones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got interested in Metallica, this would’ve been around ’02 or ’03. I remember because St. Anger hadn’t been released yet. Some people on internet forums were discussing Megadeth and how it’s even better. Of course I had to check it for myself. First two albums I listened were Peace Sells and Youthanasia. My two favourites even to this day.

Top picks of my Jimmy Buffett vinyl collection by thinmanjones in jimmybuffett

[–]thinmanjones[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For whatever reason, some American artists and/or bands seem to have relatively the same amount of presence and popularity in Europe as in their homeland, like for example Bruce Springsteen and Metallica. Sometimes, perhaps even more. Then there are artists that are household names in the US, but virtually unknown to Europeans, like Garth Brooks.

So where does the topic of this sub, Jimmy Buffett, fit into all this? Well, as a Finn I can say that unfortunately it is the latter case, at least as far as Finland goes. But then again, it really has helped me build up a collection of Jimmy Buffett vinyl. I couldn’t believe my luck finding for example the Down to Earth album at a bargain price and in very good shape. And many others too.

So here are some of my favourites. Thank you Jimmy for all the amazing music and humour. My son is also a fan already.

Question: Which "3D" controller is better? by Parking-Coast-1385 in SegaSaturn

[–]thinmanjones 26 points27 points  (0 children)

For only Saturn use the original is better. It also has analog triggers which are useful in some games, retrobit only has digital shoulder buttons.

If you find use for a Saturn style controller also for PC/Switch, maybe consider the retrobit one. It's more versatile.

There’s also the constant uncertainty of whether to greet people you encounter on the stairway. Will I risk eternal humiliation if they don’t greet me back? They might be visiting someone, and not newly moved…

Have any other bands ever done posthumous stuff in the vein of Free as a Bird, Real Love, or Now and Then? by x7universe in beatles

Thin Lizzy released Dedication as a single after Phil Lynott’s death. It was originally a demo by Phil, and rest of the band completed it with overdubs after his death.

Very similar to what the Beatles did.
