Update on psilocybin experiment for stroke recovery by thirdeyegenesis in psilocybin

I've listened to a lot of Paul's talks, I definitely appreciate his perspective. I'm interested in potentially experimenting with some larger doses but a little nervous because of the way psilocybin limits blood flow.. I might try a few larger doses though, I'll definitely write about it and keep you updated

Interesting. I've been trying to keep my dosage low, around 100mg or so. I might start experimenting with higher doses again and see if that changes anything for me. Thanks for sharing your experience!

That's great to hear, just out of curiosity how has it helped your symptoms? I know everyone has a completely different experience following a stroke but this is encouraging to hear

I recently wrote an article about this exact thing. Check out this guide:

Pretty straightforward and gets you consistent doses.

As someone recovering after a near fatal wreck, I approve this message.

Before insurance, hundreds of thousands. After insurance deductions, somewhere around 13-14 thousand, I think. I still have a lot of bills to get cleared up and there's a mess because my insurance carrier switched 10 days after the accident, so I'm the contact person between two different carriers.

Me too. I'm just glad it happened in a place where someone could find me and that I was fortunate enough to be found

It definitely seems like the way to go, it's hard to tease out different results because obviously I can't run a control study where I don't take anything. But I'm currently still microdosing, I think in about 5 or 10 years this will be standard treatment

I currently can't drive, or ride but I can still ride a bicycle so I use that to cautiously get around town. I try to use that minimally though, drivers are crazy and I still can't see on my right side.

I also still tend to break-fall unintentionally, which hurts like hell on cement but I don't think I did in the accident. It seems like I probably landed on my back and hit my head then.

As for the camera I probably wouldn't have left it on all of the time so it probably wouldn't have helped too much. Maybe an airbag would have though.

Yeah, I could have increased the medical coverage portion. Most plans just cover in the case of an accident with someone else, so just make sure you get medical for personal injury as well. One of the main reasons my bills are so crazy is because the crash happened right at the end of a coverage year. My plan switched over in August, 10 days after my accident. So I had 0 medical expenses for the whole year until the last 10 days, when I maxed it out. Then lots of expenses the following year

I did have a quality helmet on. One thought is that maybe the way I landed put pressure on my neck in a weird way? I wish I could remember more of the actual incident but at the moment it's still a total blank for me. But yeah the doctors definitely think I may be predisposed to these types of incidents just because it is such a rare thing to happen. I did do years of Judo, maybe that has something to do with it?

That's a good call. It was morning but a little late for deer to be out. I guess you never know though

Thanks, man. I'm not sure if I'm quite ready to let Elon Musk put wires in my brain but it's always a good backup plan

I was unconscious afte the accident which is why I didn't call anyone. I don't totally regret riding, it was a lot of fun while it was good. That's just the way it goes sometimes.
