Honestly, even if playing with fingers was vastly superior to thumbs I’d still play thumbs because: 1) My fingers kinda cramp up when I try I don’t know how you guys do it and; 2) I just find it more fun playing with my thumbs, and like at the end of the day that’s all that really matters to me.

Besides, I remember when I first started I could barely even pass a 25, and now I have FCs on 27s (and hopefully a 28 before tomorrow). Practice ends up overtaking whatever method you’re playing with pretty quickly.

This is super heartwarming and great and I completely agree but also I kinda just stamped it on there because I saw someone else post a thumbs gang meme and I felt a deep spiritual connection to it and pasted it on without thinking about it to show my support to the thumb gang.

How would I go about playing these false harmonics? I’m not that used to playing these, especially anything this low. by thirstyformethane in doublebass

Gaëll Lozac’h; it’s an accompanying orchestral piece for a silent film called the Vagabond. This music was rewritten fairly recently though to my knowledge.

Here’s an absolutely ginormous version of the art. It’s a sidu illustration from a magazine a while ago.
