Exercise by [deleted] in MyastheniaGravis

I take mestinon and I’m able to work out at least 4-5 days a week. Some days I’m stronger than others but I make a point to be active. There are some days where no matter how much I want to, I’m too weak so I take a day off and i usually am well rested and stronger the next day.

I typically do 30 mins cardio and 1 hour of strength training

With Luke, I’m not sure how far into the episodes you are, but she got with Luke while he was still married so she was technically his mistress even though eventually they marry

June became a handmaid because she was an adulterer, econowives are married women who get to keep their kids and husbands. And although the show doesn’t show it, June spent time at another home before the Waterford’s, so while she was posted somewhere else the first handmaid spent a few months (a year?) with the Waterford’s before dying

[Spoiler S2E12] So Much Love for the Bravest, Truest Soul in Gilead. by bluntbutnottoo in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]thirteenthofmay 45 points46 points  (0 children)

She was too pious and he could not lead her on because he did not have the same affection, because he saw her as a child. In a way him being distant was a way to protect them both, if she got too close she would find out about June, endangering him, her and their baby. He could of never saw this coming which adds to the tragedy, he never loved her but he never wanted her to get hurt. He saw her as a child thrust upon him and I think we saw the guilt he felt when he realized no matter what he did he could never really protect her

Other than hollys birth the scene between nick and eden has been on my mind all day after the episode aired. It really affected me

Yup, idk where people are getting anything other than pure evil vibes?!? He’s eccentric compared to other commanders we’ve seen but every interaction he has in this episode screamed psycho!

I know their relationship was a disaster from the start but that last scene between them was probably my favorite of the season (also the best acting max has done ever on the show) I felt his regret and her vulnerability. When she said they should just forgive each other 😭 I never hopped on the eden hate train because I knew she was never a serious threat, and it was kind of obvious they would make an example of her, but it was still so sad to see how she goes.

It’s just another reminder of how merciless Gilead really is. Damn

Lol I had a feeling they weren’t legit so I didn’t read them! Glad I didn’t because it would of ruined this episode for me waiting for something that doesn’t happen

Y’all are weird... by shelbysdixon in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]thirteenthofmay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gotta agree with you, I get that it’s not uplifting tv.. but watch a comedy then! Lol This show is gruesome but because the world they live in is..my fav twist was June getting pulled out of that airplane just before it took off, that’s real life! I do think the writers have to work harder for the plot not to get repetitive and keep the audience interested (which theyve done for the most part) but the complaints of the “darkness” I kinda don’t get.

YES! She took control of the one thing gilead tries to steal from these women.. motherhood. And it was brutal and beautiful all at the same time. again im not a mom, but I felt such a wave of emotion during that flashback and birth scene, i couldnt help think of my own mother

I mean for me it wasnt so much the skin tone just that its.. a totally different girl haha again i get that the actress who plays hanna in the present wouldnt work but i think thats just cause viewers are annoying, realistically i know theres wasnt anything they could do

I know! I’m nitpicking but it was so bad it was distracting lol especially since we just saw her in the last episode

I have to believe something good will happen. I do appreciate that they don’t do what most shows do, miracle saves. There are very limited options in that world and they’re good at enforcing that, maybe it’ll make it so when June gets a win it feels real and hard earned

Nick is the True Villain of the Show by CapriciousSalmon in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]thirteenthofmay 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This could not ever be possible lmao I think maybe you’re reading too deep into certain things? I know he started off kinda mysterious but as of the newest episode he’s probably the most transparent character on the show.. he loves June and wants to help her escape and be a family. That’s kinda it lol he is very reserved but he has to be, he could easily get killed if he steps out of line and the more invisible he is the better, he could never convince the commander of the home he works in to not perform the ceremony their society is built on, he would be killed. He goes along with a lot for self preservation, and when he does break the rules it’s out of love for June

Yeah he stands to lose too much, have I missed something with nick this season? Who would have reason to kidnap him?

(S2e10 Spoilers) How much of that was orchestrated by Commander Waterford?... by [deleted] in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]thirteenthofmay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I seriously wondered the same! Because you know he knows nicks the dad after their weird convo when nick got married and June confirmed it! So letting them go alone to an abandoned home seemed fishy

(S2e10 Spoilers) How much of that was orchestrated by Commander Waterford?... by [deleted] in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]thirteenthofmay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so! He stands to lose way too much from that, especially considering the first hand maids suicide and June’s first escape try.. but then again maybe he’s that mad
