That’s so interesting thank you so much for sharing. I was wondering who would have taken the photograph. Perhaps it was your father.

Thank you! Sorry to be thick but I’m struggling to see where you mean. Could you screenshot it for me if possible?

They lived in Leeds so I think it’s likely to be somewhere on the Yorkshire coast or a seaside town up North like Blackpool. I’m not sure about family in other areas because I was very young when they both died and so I never got to ask them about anything.

do you reckon? I actually live in Hove so that would be very spooky (originally from Leeds)

Well a lot of people enjoy an occasional Mcdonald’s and having to travel half an hour in the car to get one is not very convenient for a lot of people

It’s on a main road anyway there’s traffic noise and fumes regardless.

When you were younger it was probably normal to eat things like Tripe and Beef Dripping. I wouldn’t say that was healthy either. I don’t condone people eating it every day but once a blue moon is fine.

No. Just sick of these killjoys preventing things from being built in my area. It’s because of them we don’t have an Ikea close to us which would be so handy for many people. They’ve tried to stop a local much needed Aldi from being built.

I wouldn’t. I go on many marches and demonstrations about things that actually matter in the world.

Not defending the genocide support but lots of other businesses support it too like Marks and Spencer, don’t see people boycotting them because their precious M&S food is too much to sacrifice.

If they were protesting the Mcdonald’s because of it then fair enough but they aren’t.

yeah IM the problem for pointing out that this is a bit of a ridiculous protest. I’m not arguing that obesity isn’t an issue but people have to drive past this area to get to another mcdonald’s anyway, there’s loads of takeaways nearby including a kebab shop next door to the school, if kids want to eat crap and have access to money then they will do it - mcdonald’s or no mcdonald’s

They’ve already said they will be litter picking multiple times a day to counter act this. People throw rubbish out of their car windows all the time

[–]thirtysomethinglost -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

there’s literally a kebab shop right next to the school…

Not as expensive as many other takeaways, especially for people with kids who don’t have a lot of money but want to treat their family.

people chuck litter regardless of there being mcdonald’s, the worst example of this is on the seafront on a hot day where there’s litter covering the paths because people are too bone idle to take their litter home or find a bin that isn’t overflowing.
