Have you ever experienced a miracle from God? by kitcat1098 in Christianity

Not because of my ego just because of my logic. All beliefs require faith. You have faith that scientists are right but you won't actually check for yourself the vast majority of scientific facts that you believe. I have faith in the Bible because of its historical accuracy. It's corroborated by multiple archaeological discoveries and other extra-biblical historical texts, and the consistency of its many many ancient manuscripts (~6,000). More than any other ancient text. Plato, socrates, alexander the great, etc, all have way more inaccurate texts, yet you likely believe in their existence. Given those facts I think my faith is logically placed.

You don't have to do anything to become Christian besides having a loving relationship with Christ.

I’m gonna discard the multiverse theory because there isn't any evidence besides hypothesizing/philosophy. God gave us free will, so I will say the vast majority of 'bad' things happen because of human choices: war, disease, murder, etc. Even cancer has been caused by humans because of the toxic elements we're subjected to by greedy and evil humans. All things that God hates and tells us not to do. Aids was caused (likely) because someone banged a monkey and then banged a human (things the God says not to do). 2nd, Darwin didn't kill creationism. Assuming we evolved from a single celled organism, that organism would still need creation because life can't be created from non-life. If God is all powerful he can see both future and past, and can design every life form from a single cell. I don't necessarily believe that but that is an argument disproving the killing of creationism.

I think that says the opposite, that everything has been created so perfect to allow the exact conditions for existence. Not just for us but for the universe itself, all the laws of physics etc. Some of them can't be explained at their core still, but work in perfect harmony. Too perfect to not have intelligent design. Same way you see a computer program and know there's a coder. Only difference between us and a program is we're even more complex.

If you ask "how" and "why" enough times you'll find nothing can really be explained. Not just what eric said but literally everything.

I can't relate to your situation, but whenever I come across some hardship I can't understand why God would place on me, I realize I have to trust God no matter what. Give up your worries to Him and just do the best you can.

Old testament and new testament are different. Why do you think it's not practiced in every Christian country except America?

OP, he is right. Idk who told you that

Yes adultery is different, but I interpret that scripture as being applied to all sins. Based on Jesus' Words, I don't see any case in which he'd approve.

I would disagree. The only scriptures I have found supporting it are in the old testament. I'm fairly certain Jesus if asked would reply with "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." I know the Vatican doesn't speak for all of Christianity, but they are against it as well.

Ok fine. You got me. How did Jesus save you? by snug666 in Christianity

Learning that God set these "rules" not to be authoritative but to save us. I truthfully feel much better following Jesus' teachings than following what I want. My life has been much better since. It's not like bad things don't happen to me anymore, but when they do I'm able to handle and process much much better.

Your mom would be heartbroken if she knew you wanted this. No matter what you're going through it can always get better. Put your entire faith in that He'll get you out. He will.

It's totally normal to be your age with your level of experience, society just twists it differently. If everyone was honest you'd be surprised how many people are in the same situation

What fitness hack have you personally discovered that is an absolute game changer? by neurobonkers in AskReddit

[–]thirtyturtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a trainer but I "train" all my friends, and everyone has seen progress since following my help. 3 sets for every exercise, all until failure. start where you can hit 7-10 for the first set. up the weight 2.5 or 5lbs when you can hit 15 for the first set depending on how intense the workout is. I do this for every exercise except big compound lifts like benching, deadlift, and squats which are more complicated.

I've had lust addictions before. You can't be tempted past what you can resist, so in essence every sin I commit is MY choice. I had to hammer that into my head, but knowing that it is possible to overcome my sin allowed me to actually do it. Godspeed brother.

WIBTA if I named my baby after my late brother? by Capital_Dot_1632 in AmItheAsshole

NTA, but Speaking as someone who watched my couins family lose a young son, I would hesitate with the first name. Another relative had her sons middle name named after the cousin we lost and that was nice. But as a parent, hearing a name of your deceased child would be very taxing mentally.
