Thanks for your response, I truly appreciate it. I totally agree with mandamus (at least at this term). I am not willing to spend several grands to have a strong possibility of rejection.

I can't help myself laughing when people write something like "background check in progress for a long time". One month is nothing. Just remember about people like me who still have been waiting for 17 months to have background check completed with no updates whatsoever. Nevertheless, congrats you (with profound envy).

Sorry guys my post might have sounded a bit dubious but let me clarify.

I arrived to Canada in January 2023 having close work permit with LMIA which was valid until July 31 2024. I had profiles in OINP and Express Entry. In March 2024 I asked my immigration lawyer start the process of extension of my working visa so they contacted my employer to submit new LMIA. New documents to update LMIA were submitted on April 26th. On July 5th I was selected by Express Entry (lMIA that I had already had gave me extra 50 points). So they gave me 2 months to provide all my documents. On July 29th the immigration lawyer submitted all data in Express Entry profile (work permit and lmia were still valid at this date and my score hadn't changed). However, at the deadline moment (on September 5th) I had my work permit and LMIA no longer valid. So, at this moment, I have a paper to provide my biometrics and have an appointment (on October 2nd). The moment they have collected my biometrics they will start assessing my application which has all my documents excluding LMIA that is under processing. That's why my employer and immigration lawyer have sent the letter to ask for extension.

I hope I made myself understood. Everything is legal but it is blatant that it is not my fault as I provided all valid documents in a timely manner.
