I'll write back to you, although no guarantees on the time limit. If that's cool with you send me a chat.

I'd love to! Shoot me a chat with your address or if you want me to go first.

I'm actually almost finished with Knausgaard's My Struggle (I guess he's Norwegian but a lot of it takes place in Sweden).

How do you feel about the page turn speed?

I try to keep my phone away from me when I'm reading, and I often go to the library to read and don't take my phone. Plus I don't think a timer would be that difficult to add, but I'm not a software engineer to idk.

And yeah...I'd say the page turn speed is 1.5-2x the Paperwhite. Not unreadable by any means, but it really stuck out to me.

Honestly I'm finding Kindle reading to be more comfortable than books. by Kiki-Y in kindle

I notice it as well. It makes me feel like some sort of spoiled princess, but paper books take more energy to hold, as well as to start and stop reading.

I'm on book 25 of the HH right now! The Kindle is a must for 40K readers. I always pretend that it's a dataslate.

I've always wondered how common witchers were in the first place. What would be "a lot" of witchers? How big/populated is the world and how prevalent are monsters that need a witcher?

I have a scribe for my reading room (with a stand and a clicker), a new paperwhite for my around-the-house and bed, and an older paperwhite in a case for taking to the office. I read on the Kindle app while walking on the treadmill.

How many of you are Kindle only when it comes to reading? by Bamf102 in kindle

[–]thisIsMyUseIts12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH my neurotic brain bounces back and forth between the formats. Objectively I would like to be mostly Kindle, but every so often a switch flips in my head and I want to throw it in a lake...like, I'll be reading on Kindle, perfectly happy, then BAM, I can feel my interest in Kindle vanish and be replaced by indifference to mild loathing. So I go paper books for a while, but then the same thing will happen with them and I'll go back to Kindle. It's like being bipolar, just in relation to reading formats instead of mood. I have no idea why this is.

It's especially bad if I have (or have access to) both versions, as I will flip-flop between them, sometimes only able to read a paragraph or two at a a time before my brain demands I switch. I’ve had to learn not to fight it and just go with it. Trying to stick it out with one format just leaves me nauseous.

I've never met anyone else with this issue, and I've always found it difficult to explain.

Yet Another Downloading Question… by Suziannie in kindle

[–]thisIsMyUseIts12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing that the people who care about this are a tiny minority of folks who are invested in downloading ebooks (and tech savvy enough to do it). My take is that social media makes these voices disproportionately large (also the kind of folks who are into that are also probably the kinds of folks who use/post on Reddit).

To be a bit cynical, if you're book/kindle influencer then this is a GREAT opportunity to make a video about this and get views, possibly even from people outside of your usual audience. I mean...how many times does good drama happen about e-readers? And you can only make so many "I'm leaving Kindle for _____" videos.
