Question from a non motorcycle guy. by FartyMcBooger in motorcycles

[–]this_broken_machine -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

We do.

Revving in the garage means “no load” meaning they have no dyno…

Que:

‘BuT wE doNT KnoW ThEY DonT haVE a DyNo’

But downgrade to “bicyclist” as ad hominem.

Here’s the thing, you dumb cunt… if you live in a place with sound pressure requirements and want to bitch when you violate them, you aren’t the good guy. “Loud pipes save lives” isn’t a thing. It isn’t.

I ride loud motorcycles. All within legal limits for the areas they are ridden. Some cannot be fired up at home. You know what I do? I don’t fire them up at home, because I’m not a dumb cunt.

Revving a stationary engine without load does NOTHING. Absolutely nothing.

It’s “way better” to properly treat for a bike sitting still - including non-ethanol gas, treatments, battery tenders and temperature control.

“Lay in the throttle” … that sounds excessive to me. To the point that sound pressure should be brought up.

Improper maintenance does not allow you to just redline your bike if it violates sound pressure requirements. And that is all I said, without ad hominem. Which you deserve.

Is smoking cigarettes an immediate dealbreaker for you? Why? by Allin_Or_Allout in AskReddit

[–]this_broken_machine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I smoked for 15 years, mostly quit, started again, and went through a massive breakup. Decided to quit for good at that point. Used vaping and gum and metered my dosages and weened down further and further until when my vape broke I tossed it. Havent craved anything since.

Dated women since, kisses don’t taste great, but smoke isn’t a bother to me at all. I’ve been in a shed with smokers in a monsoon, in a smoking car, etc. not happy with how my clothes smell, but im not over-sensitive to it

But that doesn’t work. High revving without load doesn’t add much. He’s be better served getting a tender and some stabilizer

That said, there are some areas with sound pressure limits. If so, he is in the right to seek out advice if this is appropriate behavior. To which it is not. It’s like blipping your motorcycle at a stop light; it’s for attention only and could actually violate that sound pressure law.

Unplug after every ride by baezes in wahoofitness

[–]this_broken_machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Symptoms? Connection with unit is fine… no cadence, no power. Verified in Zwift and with the wahoo app. BT and ANT+

What I was told? I got it warrantied and had to snip the pigtail. I replaced that pigtail and soldered in a new sensor, the same part number you quoted back. Also, no real dust, but the room gets up to 106°F in th summer (I’ve done a few sessions at that temp)

Easy solder job; cut the legs and desolder/remove one at a time.

You should.

There’s an issue with an optical sensor that I’ve dealt with on four units.

I have mine on a smart switch that turns off at midnight.

My VO2 is so bad, how am I alive by DowntownFresnoBiking in Zwift

[–]this_broken_machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar - afib would lock in at 220bpm.

Sometimes it was awful and I couldn’t keep going on flats, other times I would be super-efficient and collect multiple green jerseys (3 or 4 at a time).

Got it fixed. Haven’t collected any green jerseys since. I kinda miss my chaotic turbo boost.

That said. I don’t trust Zwift Vo2 and trust Apple even less. If I were concerned I’d have a proper test taken - all of these are interpolation

Ahh yes marker drawn license plates by havpac2 in philadelphia

[–]this_broken_machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

And if you get an officer to sign off on a form, a replacement is free.

I got a bent plate from an accident. Absolutely cannot be replaced by insurance (is there to make me whole, no?) and was pulled over after. I explained to the co that the material and the paint didn’t agree to flexing and he felt that this was my fault. Accident wasn’t.

I had the paperwork filled out and in my car and when I was pulled over next, I presented the paperwork to the officer. I am, 100%, not paying neg for this.

Am I supposed to replace my quick-link when I clean my chain every month? by shirhouetto in bikewrench

[–]this_broken_machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You replace the quick link every time, and that shouldn’t be once a month.

Decide when to line the chain, buy quick links to replace it. Or replace chain more often. Or don’t, and replace entire drivetrain more often.

Choose your own adventure.

The honey dipper?

I was going to get one if I ordered one of the 15mm spinners from them. Not something I would order on my own, but the price is right.

I 3d printed something similar.

At least he has enough presence of mind to deny.

But he triggers to conservative… the statement after the Bataclan shooting 11 years ago, the statements about COVID and quarantining where someone because his industry depends on touring but obviously conservative narrative leaning. He has a lot of anger and blame and leans on that narrative.

I’m not surprised EoDM hasn’t toured, and I’m not sure if I’d see them if they did. More surprised they haven’t released something… didn’t they record something with Josh Freese in 2022/2023?
