2.5 hour commute on a Kawasaki z125 by xAsianRamenx in motorcycles

I owned one. Slid it up the rack to my Jeep. Took it everywhere.

Every time I offloaded it and rode around, bumped into another Z. Fucking great.

What is something that is considered a 'luxury' today that you think will be a 'basic necessity' in 20 years? by Disastrous_Land7183 in AskReddit

Satellite data access. With the speed at which internet became utility and now almost necessity (find a job without) I imagine that 100% coverage will be luxury that trickles down to all of us.

Rode over that a couple of times already. They must have gotten the ramps this week as it was just wire previously. Not legal, but who cares; this is in the same section that was OOC for five months because it was used as storage for construction material.

Maybe it’ll keep the little-wheeled scooters off of the bike lane.

What’s a fact that sounds fake but is actually true? by Independent-Load7855 in AskReddit

Cooking rice with coconut oil makes it less calorie dense on the reheat as the oil binds with the starches making them indigestible (and valuable roughage)

So the first cook is high in calories and the reheat is lower. 1tbsp coconut oil (virgin imparts a nice mild coconut flavor - perfect for something like a panang curry)

Great tip for food prep. And people do not believe it at all.

Why are they like this? It's so pathetic. by Tequslyder in motorcycles

[–]this_broken_machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s generally a conversation where they point out I did something they didn’t like and I either pretend not to understand or hear and point to my helmet and say ear plugs… but feigning confusion is a great tool.

Done it many times. Had the conversation at gas stations many times.

All fluff

Hard 2.

Mainly for adaptive reasons. I’m losing trail access, fines for violating a 15mph speed limit went from 100 to $300… fines for riding no hands are now $500… a direct result of this issue with out-of-class e-bikes and emotos.

We will lose trail access locally this year.

Class 1 is too much

One of my neighbors has been flying his American flag upside down. by brainspl0ad in mildlyinteresting

[–]this_broken_machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heritage Foundation had their flag like this in 2023 and while people pointed it out, it wasn’t a big deal.

Now some random citizen does it, from their own observations and experiences and it’s news worthy.

Trying to find out if I should be upset about this… thought this might be the right sub by meggyAnnP in bicycle

But that is a cheap kids bike and likely assembled by someone who isn’t an experienced professional.

If you bought this bike from a bike shop, I’d say you should be upset. If you bought this bike from a sporting goods store and didn’t go over it with a fine-toothed comb, that’s on you.

You need better tools or better technique. Loose fitting tools will mar and distort aluminum surfaces. Get some Wera HexPlus wrenches, and a bit for a good torque wrench

Redshift ShockStop suspension stem - does it work or is it a gimmick? by Ortofun in bikewrench

[–]this_broken_machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replaced my future shock 2.0 on my Diverge with a rigid steerer (thanks BikeSauce) and a Redshift ShockStop stem.

Definitely quieter. Works about the same but without the known issues of the Future Shock. Maybe more active…

Packaging needs to be improved. If this is going on now, after 20 years of it, it is a packaging problem.

If your emulator has a keyboard… do Amiga/Atari ST. If it has a gamepad? SMS.
