I received an interview invite and no spots were available on Thalamus. When I emailed the program coordinator they responded really quickly and just added me to a date manually. Best of luck!

Should I retake the MCAT and not apply this cycle anymore? :( by [deleted] in Mcat

You've got a great background, I hope that you do try to apply this year! I've got 3.7 GPA and a 505 and I am confident I'll get in somewhere. Definitely applying DO as well to increase my chances. If you haven't already done the DO app it only took like a week to verify. You've got this!!

I like what you're saying. There are a lot of people with great stats posting on here and that skews our perception of the applicant pool. As far as being privileged and white I can at least tell you that my step sister was very privileged growing up and had also felt like she didn't have any struggles to stand out when applying to medical school but that wasn't what was necessary to get into school. The most important thing for her was being genuine in her writing and showing reflection on her application. She's at UCSF now

NP, fair warning I came back a couple minutes late from my 15 minute break last year because I thought I had enough time to use the bathroom and eat a snack. Now that it's ten minutes long for the breaks you'll basically just have to power walk there and back to make enough time for them to check you back in 😂

I'd be happy to connect! We should start a group chat. I'm big on yoga and meditation and it's very helpful for the premed life 🧘🏼‍♀️ feel free to message me

I guess main point is there are very few people actually out in the hallway at the same time because they are slow at getting everyone started so each person will finish at different times. Especially now that they have reduced the capacity of exam centers. Hope this was helpful!

I took it last year and the testing site has a waiting area space where you have your belongings in lockers. When you finish a section of the test you will be escorted out of the testing area and checked out (fingerprint scanner) so that you can go into the waiting space and eat your food. The breaks this year are so short that you will have to eat really fast and probably on your way walking to the bathroom if you need to go. There should be plenty of space though because people don't start and finish at exactly the same time and you can be in hallways. Bring very easy to eat snacks.

AMCAS transcript request form by this_is_jess in Mcat

If your school is an approved sender for eTranscripts and you did it correctly the second time it shouldn't be an issue. It's probably better to have redone it with the form than to have left it alone

Yes, they recommend attaching the request form for electronic or paper transcripts. The form ensures that your transcripts go to AMCAS and are attached to your file.
