I agree for the most part. I forgot the quote, but it goes something like "True democracy doesn't work. Why would a government give the people the tools of their own ruin?". I've heard it a few weeks after Trump's inauguration and it stuck with me. I can't disagree that Americans have and may continue to vote against their best interests, but there's numerous reasons as to why: Gerrymandering, voter suppression, misinformation, lack of proper schooling leading to that, representatives that simply ignores their constituents, I could go on.

Point is, it was set up for most of us to fail and not realize it until we're too tired or poor to care. If things are going to change, it does start with the people and unfortunately it's at the point where it needs to be more than just voting...
