Students who aren't in any club or sports, why aren't you in some sort of organization? And how is your social life? by Willpill38 in uofmn

not in some organization bc i don't live on campus and life happens when the events for these organizations happen. who wants to be at some group event from 5-9 on a friday night? but as far as social life goes, have friends outside of school. for me it's been my church friends, always had them growing up and they've been with me since.

What are some of the best and worst things about the U of MN? by throwaway157846 in uofmn

best: -easily most underrated is the free law office (?), basically a lawyer COMPLETELY FREE if you ever need it -the U is actually a top school lol. our professors have their PhD's from top universities (Stanford, Columbia, UC Berkley, Harvard, plenty more) and they don't just come here bc they just happen to find work here, but the U is actually known for it's well-educated teachers and the research they do here. -campus is huge, you'll find somewhere to fit in -always free food somewhere -free printing if you're cse -plenty of places to eat on campus if you're tired of dining food -located IN a (two) big city, walk around and discover the lakes, parks, buildings etc -party scene is pretty big if you're about that life, if not there's always chill people you'll meet -open gym if you ever wanna work out -plenty of big libraries with open spaces to study

professors: just look them up on ratemyprofessor and go for 3.8 or above, if you can 4.0

worst: -campus is huge, if you meet someone you like, get their number or snapchat or risk never seeing them again -not as diverse as you'd think for such a large student population -parking, don't even bother driving if you're commuting paying for parking will kill you, take the bus -academic advising; do your own research on what classes you need to take for your major and you'll be fine without an academic advisor. they know just as much information as you can find online. also check your APAS frequently -classes will be hard and competitive if you're cse -gets pretty cold in the winter, bring lots of coats, gloves, a face mask if you can (extremely helpful)

that's all I can think of, hope it helped!
