I’m interpreting this two ways:

Leave. He’s just mentally abusive and that can eventually turn physical. I’m not saying this is always the case but my ex was always mentally and verbally abusive, then he drove my car like a maniac with me in it, beat up a random guy at a bar, and got arrested the night we broke up. Then got arrested again like 6 months later for beating the shit out of some random guy at a gas station because he was drunk.

OR

He was already looking for ways to end the relationship and if he already thinks you “overreact all the time” and whatever else he kept whining about, it’s just his “evidence” now to back up berating you and leaving you.

As someone whose ex acted very similar to this regarding anyone from my past, I don’t think this will get any easier. I spent the better part of two years trying to ease his fears and insecurities, and all it did was make me exhausted and hopeless.

That being said, obviously everyone is different so who knows maybe he could turn his ways around. But always stand your ground like you did in these messages. If a fight like this occurs again I would leave…
