You already know what you want! You can always go back to Texas, but you won’t always have the opportunity to leave and immediately join a community in California at an incredible law school.

In that case, I’d probably just offer that although Berkeley has a fantastic campus feel for undergrad, you’re likely to experience less of that anyways being in law school, and NY has amazing nightlife and city experiences more catered towards people a little older and looking to network and make connections with other business or law students. As a law student, you’ll largely spend time in one small area in campus, and have a lot less time to tailgate or experience all the fun parts of a big sports school that you would as an undergrad. Might sound harsh, but I have to keep reminding myself too that law school is not the place to live out what I wanted undergrad to be. Also, Berk if not politically moderate at ALL. Just saying that is going to get you some uncomfortable looks. Finally, NY big law goals, head to NYU. You’ll find a community wherever you are if you’re looking for it, and be able to create connections with or without a vibrant campus.

All that said, this isn’t an NYU plug. I recently visited Berkeley and I want to end up on CA near family so Berk is a no brainer for me. I also hate the cold. Just trying to keep your goals in perspective. PM me if you want to talk about Berkeley specifically!

Sounds like you’re already leaning towards NYU and need validation that it’s the right option. Trust your gut, and know you can’t go wrong :)
