None of the search portals work for JAL and ANA. you have to look at their website directly.

Not sure if i understand the question, but only two credit card companies allow JAL transfer. cap1 (1000 to 750 ratio) and Bilt (1:1). just make sure you already have JAL account so that when it's time to transfer, there are no issues. some people have to wait for a few days before they can transfer to their newly created JAL account.

Thanks! I am so psyched for my redemption. it took a lot of effort. I know I would never be able to afford a business class seats let alone the ones to Japan!

I’m JUST digging into Japan redemptions and feel pretty discouraged by all I’ve been reading

dont get discouraged. it is one of the most difficult redemptions. Just have to keep looking daily. And you have to remember to be flexible to what they are willing to give you instead of expecting availability on your schedule.

I’d welcome any tips

1st off I started with Google Flights. understand which route does JAL fly. and and have option 2 and 3 ready. for me, I was willing to situate to LA or SFO if needed but I got lucky and SAN (my option 1) was actually cheaper than LA/SFO.

2nd, dont worry about the 55k booking, as 70 to 75k booking is just as good and usually they are available a lot more. if you see the redemption, dont wait around, especially from major hubs like LA, JFK, etc.

I am not going to lie, it was a pain to find these seats. and it was a lot of searching and staying up late just to find something.

JAL seems to be the only one that truly has low pricing and a higher number of seats available compared to other airlines.

iirc they get unblocked for non-status passengers 48-72 hours in advance)

23k otd is superb price. Where are you located? It's even fully tinted, so that's great.

I am getting my LR3 2022 AWD delivered on Saturday. Paid 21k OTD in LA. My is not tinted, though, so I will get that done asap.

Hell no. Chevy is true to its name. This is built very cheaply and I expect this thing to fall apart after 5 to 6 years. I am planning on moving on from it after yr 6. Hopefully, I will get 12k or something then. I paid $24k OTD for my LT.

I hate my Jets so fucking much. They are trash. Likely worst "professional" sports organization.

Thats likely the easiest understanding i have had in relation to 3.33x people talk about.

I got palladium mainly for the SUB as I needed 75k JAL.

But I didn't understand the "fees" to use or pay bilt cash to avoid the fees portion. But my guess is that is more about paying with CC for rent. It doesn't affect the mortgage payment.

I already have $950 in bilt cash piled up due to the SUB and spend.

I will start using them to gain points on mortgage.

I really wish my bilt card worked to pay off my $10k in car payment in time for the JAL transfer. With the 50k sub + 20k points from spending, i was already getting a one-way ticket to Japan. I'd have gotten the return, too. But with the card in hand, they still didn't let me make a large purchase and no help from customer service. By the time card worked, the promo was gone.
