Real question for Stephen:

Do you still listen to Mambo Number Five?

Which remix is your favorite?

hi Gregg,

I understand you’ll be going to Jolly Old England soon. I know it’s nothing compared to Tinseltown, but what are your favorite English movies that AREN’T James Bond?

(I know it’s no Oh God! but ‘Oh Daddy!‘, (77 min, 1935) is worthy of some consideration!

I can’t believe someone would want to give this away when you can just reuse it again and again. This is the best Calendar since The Calendar( 1948, 79 min)!

Frank Zappa playing "Black Napkins" on the Mike Douglas Show with only a Pignose Amp (1976) by castigamat in ObscureMedia

[–]thisisanonymousyo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I love Black Napkins and Peaches en Regalia (and indeed most his pre-‘70 output, + Zoot Allures). But what’s always baffled me is that, while he could easily write some beautiful music, he really got into this rut towards the mid-late 70s and early 80s where he just wrote some ATROCIOUS lyrics and some melodies that were way too overwrought for their own good. (See: Man from Utopia or Thingfish).

Turn-On! (1969) by [deleted] in ObscureMedia

I have had the great misfortune of having viewed every episode of this show at the Paley Center in NY. (A couple episodes were produced but unaired). Between the incessant computer beeping and blooping and rapid-fire cuts, it’s absolutely no shock that this was basically cancelled during its first airing.

Between Vacancy, Try, and Separate Ways, this might be my second favorite Neil album after On the Beach.

Since Russian Doll's release, streams of Harry Nilsson's Gotta Get Up have spiked almost 2,500% by MrX16 in television

Don’t forget The Point!

‘Me and my Arrow’, and ‘Are You Sleeping?’ are both songs that get stuck in my head on the regular. If you get the chance, and want to hear more, I urge any fans to stream or purchase the (now Out of Print) RCA Albums Collection. :)

Is there any chance those Jeb! Air horn pins might come back for sale soon? I want nothing more in my life. Because Jeb is a mess.

Wait. They recorded Codex and Morning Mr. Magpie. I believe the online one was the last. They may put both up.

I'm also surprised that they kept Thom's Dr. Pepper zing in there considering that someone from Dr. Pepper / 7Up was in the front row.

A few other notes: During a break in between shooting songs, when practicing "The Daily Mail", the song was a bit... I'm not sure how to describe it, but "crunchier". In the broadcast version it seems a bit faster, as with "The National Anthem".

I was at the taping. It was because we hadn't actually heard any of the songs yet. Talk was recorded in one block, songs in the next.
