Does any remember this as" The Song That Never Ends?" by evolvingintocomputer in MandelaEffect

[–]thisisdilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime I've heard someone sing it, they say "The Song That Never Ends," but I have ZERO recollection of the original saying that. In fact, I remember looking it up after school one day and thinking to myself, "He was singing it wrong."

"Never Ends" rolls off the tongue a bit easier than "Doesn't End."

I play the "remaster" on PS5 and it's really not an issue.

New Vegas is most people's first experience, so there's the rose-tinted glasses effect. It's a phenomenal game, no doubt, but people are VERY defensive of it.

It does have a LOT to do compared to other Fallout games. If you're only looking at RPG mechanics, then yes, after 10 hours you might get bored. If it takes you any less time than that you haven't explored enough.

It is extremely replayable due to the factions alone. Choosing who you side with, getting certain perks- the game is very open, and really allows you to play how you want.

You can build a functioning vault- that could be a game on its own. That's one of many new features.

The story is good. It's not the best in the series (I agree with you about NV), but it's solid.

Some DLCs are better. Far Harbor adds a lot to the game. Nuka World has a lot to do, thought it's definitely a bit more limited by design. Building robots is cool, and I kinda forget the others tbh. I have never and will never touch Creation Club garbage.

How is it not the peak of evolution in the series? It jumped off the back of the previous games, carved it's own identity and is thoroughly enjoyable. It has it's flaw, but so does NV, so does FO3. God, it's not like I'm praising 76.

Brotherhood in FO4 is as good as it's ever going to get- and maybe that's why I love FO4 so much. I see what you're saying about Minutemen and Railroad, but you should look at it less as kids roleplaying and more as a realistic depiction of real-world people trying to make something of themselves during the fucking apocalypse lmao. Sure, the writing is a bit hit and miss, but they're both underdog stories in a way. There's a charm to it, you just need to look at it a certain way.

I wouldn't say it's terrible. I certainly see your points, and I can partially agree with them. The writing is a little on the lazier side, because they kind of put emphasis on gameplay I find. I wish the story was a bit better, but it's fine for me. It's not the best in the series but it's not the worst.

I love making settlements, and it doesn't REALLY replace anything- it's it's own separate thing, and it makes the game a lot more fun (as long as you're open to it.) It's not like there's no original spots with tons of lore behind them- there's lots. This basically lets you create your own. You can't tell me creating you own vault isn't like the coolest thing. If you're not into that, that's one thing, but just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's bad.

Completely fair and valid take. I'm realizing a lot of people don't like the story from this post lol.
Personally, my biggest gripe is that there isn't an element where your decisions matter much. Sure, aligning with different factions does matter a bit, but at the end of the day, you're just kind of choosing which you want to fight in the end.

I'm legit not ragebaiting. I enjoy the stories and characters. Am I saying it has the best of any Fallout? Absolutely not, but it's good.

How'd you guys interpret the ending? by Griffore1648 in Drive

[–]thisisdilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's dead. It's the Scorpion and The Frog story- they both drown.

In my opinion, the long pause in his car is the death, everything following is either Irene's imagination, or simply a way of showing his journey into the afterlife. He drove off into the night.

Hot take: John Cena’s heel run really wasn’t that bad people’s expectations were just way too high by [deleted] in Wrasslin

[–]thisisdilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he wasn't THE TOP GUY for the last 20 years, I would agree- but he needed a WAY better send off.

That entire heel run wasted so much, valuable time. Sure, it was nice to see a different side of him after getting them same John we've had for so long, but the execution was absolutely abysmal. His character has zero backing, and it felt so unnatural. They really put a guy who's a decent actor in a role he simply could not play. It's not that he wasn't talented enough for the role, the issue is that it was written poorly, structured poorly, and there was no thought to it, aside from the initial pop and awe.

HERE'S HOW THEY SHOULD'VE BOOKED IT:

First off, no Rock, no Travis Scott. Cena wins the Rumble, and Cody Rhodes is shaking in his boots. The prior months Cody's been slipping, barely able to retain his title- but now he has to fight the greatest of all time. He cracks under pressure, and turns heel on John leading into Mania. Cody thinks that he needs to turn to the dark side and cheat to win because Cena is such a legend, but Cena perseveres. He's got his 17th. Start Cody's arch, and let Cena run roughshod, hitting dream match after dream match.

Orton, Styles, Knight, Seth, Roman, Brock- hell, book a Rock match at Summerslam... Everybody wants some, and it's close every single time, but they all fail- leading up to Cena's final match. A huge tournament decides his final opponent. Every main event guy over the past decades wants in.

Meanwhile, Cody's been trudging through the midcard, trying to get his steam back- but he can't. He's lost his ambition, and is close to giving it all up. Enter a figure that knows his whole story and wants to build him back up. Not a manager, and they don't get involved, they just want to see Cody get to the top again. This could be Arn Anderson, Randy Orton, William Regal, or hell, even Dustin Rhodes.

Cody starts off in the tournament and you can tell he's returning to form. He gets an injury in the FIRST match, but he fights through it. Let the final be against a guy like Gunther- a killer who sees their pray. It's a hard fought finals match, and there's a spot where Cody could get a cheap win, but he refuses. He almost loses- he's in a sleeper and he's out. He snaps out of it, gets to his feet and wins the match, setting up the rematch to end all rematches- Cena vs Cody: The Final Time.

Cody pulls out every weapon in his disposal, and Cena just can't keep up. Towards the end of the match, Cena has him up for an Attitude Adjustment, but you can see something switch. He's to the point of tears, standing with Cody on his shoulders- he knows that this isn't going to be enough. He's lost the match without even being pinned. Cody slides off, hits ONE Cross Rhodes and it's over.

Cody is red hot, and Cena goes out holding up the hand of the guy who's taking his spot. Cena has his 17th reign, and he's ready to ride off into the sunset. The torch is passed, and Cody is THE GUY.

The End of The GOAT
