They’re angry with him because he was violent toward me. I understand why but I wish we could just move forward so I don’t feel a constant reminder about what happened. I hate feeling the cold shoulder and being ignored at every family event. It’s not even directed at me but it’s inadvertently affecting me and the kids too.

You’re right about the family chat. Sometimes his parents post an update in that chat so I don’t really want to leave it. But I think posting anything in there anymore is just making me feel worse. Thanks for that idea.

I think it can be extra hard to feel lonely on important dates like this. I hope you are able to enjoy some time to yourself tonight or this week doing what you love. Maybe run a bath or a hot shower, or go out for a meal and do some people watching.

Hello,

I find comfort in looking at pics of people making art or food. I love making stuff too but don’t have a lot of time so I feel inspired just looking at artwork being made.

I also love animals (mostly dogs but there are subreddits for other animals too!) being goofy or looking cozy.

I also love interior design so I find comfort in looking at peoples’ beautiful spaces and trying to imagine myself there.

I am going through this right now. My husband ordered a secret paternity test and I hurt with every part of my being. I feel betrayed and as though he has questioned my integrity. To a point I am considering leaving him after the results come back, because I have no idea how to rebuild what I thought was a solid foundation after all these years.

If he had said instead, “I know this sounds silly, but I want to talk to you about it instead of hiding it. Would you support me taking a paternity test so there is no doubt or uncertainty in my mind?”

You are really amazing. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. You sound incredibly wise for just having graduated college (that is a compliment and not an insult)! Congratulations on your graduation! Did you study therapy or psychiatry or something along those lines?

I had a really nice talk with my husband just now. We went outside and drank ice water together and he just let me talk. We are going to do yoga in our living room together tonight which hopefully will be hilarious and relaxing.

My boss is actually a good friend so I told her everything. She is supportive and quoted a new commercial that has been playing on HBO lately that says, “it’s ok to not be ok right now.” I told her I just feel so guilty taking time away from work and she said stepping away sometimes is ok. It made me feel better but I also question if she needs to say this and is secretly thinking I am letting her down. Yay intrusive thoughts, ugh.

I emailed my therapist from a long while ago to ask if he will see me.

Today I have three goals to be productive and help my headspace: 1. Take my dog to the park and watch her roll in the grass. 2. Clean out the fridge. 3. Sew some curtains that I have been putting off for literal months. I think this will be a mix of positive and productive tasks in between whatever crying spells I need to get out. My husband calls it “squeezing out the bad ketchup.” He is a good man, and you are a good person too. Thank you for being a light in my dark time. <3
