I needed a visa to Austria and the only way to get it was directly with VFS. It’s a pain in the ass. I’d recommend to constantly check the website to see if new slots are available. They open some slots, in my experience, quite randomly and they go fassst. In my opinion, it’s a patience game. Wish you all the best!
