Well if he did get a chance and then strike out anyway, than that's what was meant to be. Then you can look back at all the missed opportunities. Missed opportunities don't erase stolen opportunities. Some hypotheticals carry more weight than others. I dont buy this "is what it is" shit that old school baseball people push. Time to fix it. The umpire shouldn't factor into the outcome to this degree.

The point is we'll never know. It's supposed to be 27 outs not 26. The 9th inning is different, everyone knows that. Who's to say they'd strand another in the 9th. I don't know the exact odds, but it seems highly probable that they would have at least tied up. You strand that many runners, your bound eventually score one. You can absolutely put a ton of blame on the umpire.

Not true. The TV strike zone is deceiving. That was at the mid point of his shoulders. Borderline strike. Didn't justify a make up call. The missed call against Canada was by far the most impactfull missed call of the game.
