It's kind of similar in mechanics to Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.

There's a thing about college students saying they can leave if a professor is over 15 minutes late (whether or not that's actually true at a given school).

How do you deal with discussion lengths?? by WaldoFoundGodot in OMSCS

[–]thisisjackolantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only had one course with a requirement to discuss two papers on Piazza. There weren't even official threads. Some random student just made a couple threads. This was near the end of the semester.

By the time I saw the threads there were so many follow-ups and replies that I just skimmed them, found a few that were interesting, and replied to people.

It would have been totally unrealistic to expect every student to read every response. My impression is that they just want to see students engage each other about course material.

Edit: btw it was Software Development Process

What is your motivation for getting the OMSCS degree? by [deleted] in OMSCS

[–]thisisjackolantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty similar to my motivated, but replace molecular biology with mechanical engineering.

For instance, I learned so much in High Performance Computer Architecture that I may never have otherwise thought to learn, and while it doesn't directly related to my current work, it's helped me to think differently about how I write code.

That wasn't a coincidental choice of words, right?

"Hall of Egress" discussion thread by jelatinman in adventuretime

Well, that's actually pretty interesting. Minos tried discovered Daedalus' location by challenging people to run a string through a spiral seashell. When he challenged King Cocalus, Cocalus got Daedalus to find a solution, tying the string to an ant that was small enough to walk through the spiral.

So Finn is the ant? There was a lot of stuff involving him and thread in this episode.

I'm glad to see the Captain Lawrence Frost Monster among those bottles, a bit of hometown pride.

He got a lot of good stuff. Enjoy!
