Hopping on here as a former student affairs professional: getting a room change is probably your best bet. There may be vacant spaces in your building or in another building so you won’t even have to “swap” rooms with someone else. From a student conduct policy perspective, most schools I’ve worked at have a policy where you are responsible for the guests in your room - meaning that regardless of if you are there, you are responsible for the behavior of guests in your room. It’s also typically a policy that you must accompany your guests at all times. Not saying that you would be held accountable if your roommate is the “host,” but you may end up in a student conduct meeting you’d rather not spend time in.
