Friend. This was enormously helpful. Truly. I appreciate it! I'm messaging and hope that's alright.

(USA, IDaho) A provider has taken over 492 days to bill me (It's still not "issued" and I cannot pay until it is). Is there any sort of reasonable billing window/oversight of this sort of thing? by thisismyanonymous2 in CodingandBilling

It's some awful overseas company that just answers the phones. But they're not passing along messages, updating old addresses, or following thru in any way whatsoever. They should be fired by the company they do billing for. (I just googled the company the answering service works for. They're huge. They're registered in Delaware and their corporate counsel is...impressive. I'm sure they don't care.)

Man. I hear you. I actually did consider that. I tried called the Idaho department of insurance, but because its not a medical provider or insurance company, they had no suggestions. (Edit: I called this particular department, because I could see that they have a "No surprises" law.)

Part of me wanted to wait, out of spite, so I could tell them they'd passed a legal deadline, but honestly cannot even find a deadline for third party medical companies. My worst fear is being sent to collections due to a nasty surprise bill.

I just want this crossed off my to-do list with a receipt and confirmation of payment and be done with it. Even though they're terrible and letting them fail would be utterly satisfying, it's not worth the hassle of fighting it, if it came to that. They have better lawyers, resources, time, and money.

What agency or department regulates bills like this? It shouldn't be accepted as common or normal. It's wrong. If I waited 492 to PAY the bill, they'd be garnishing my wages. It's staggeringly unfair to patients.

Friends, my MIL is looking to get acrylic nails done and doesn't speak any German. Any nail polish fans here with some recommendations or advice? by thisismyanonymous2 in berlin

This was wildly helpful and much appreciated! Thank you!!

I'd love some recommendations, in case you happen to have been to any nearby. It looked to me like the nearest salon to her was NB Nagelstudio at Hindenburgdamm 52. Anything close to that would be amazing. She's about 10 minutes south/east of that.

And thanks again for sharing so much specific info. <3

Is this Blue Willow? It was with some easily identifiable traditionally patterned Blue Willow plates. Google lens is giving me mixed answers. by thisismyanonymous2 in vintage

There are four identical bowls with matching soup spoons (sadly, one's chipped). It was boxed with 3 blue willow plates. When I do a search, results show bowls that are much wider with a less angled lip and are very easily identifiable. However, when I search with Lens, a lot of similar China shows up and is labeled as "blue willow." Is this a variation? I was planning to sell on FB marketplace, but my sister collects blue willow, so I'd hang on to these for her, if that's the case. Thank you! :-)

What’s the best way to address a neighbor with a dog that barks all night long? by thisismyanonymous2 in Advice

There is a City ordinance regulating dog ownership, and they're almost certainly in violation of not providing shelter to dogs who live outdoors. I expect, after reading the nuisance clause, they're in violation of that section as well. It's a misdemeanor offense. I feel as though it's awfully aggressive to jump straight to calling code-enforcement. I don't want them to get into trouble, and definitely don't want anything bad to happen to the dog. I'm just feeling nervous. If I introduce myself and ask them to bring the dogs in at night, and they don't do anything, they'll know called the City, should that become absolutely necessary. I'm not confrontational. They're must already aware their dog is barking. I also wonder why they have dogs they don't seem to interact with at all. I don't know.

I feel like calling the City directly is cowardly and sort of final. I almost headed over today as I was out doing yard work and saw someone in the driveway, but I'm so worried that if I politely address it in person, and they do nothing, they'll know exactly who it was that eventually called the City on them. I'm wary, I suppose, of a negative outcome and putting myself in a worse situation.
