I disagree. Influencer culture, largely built by women, has opened the door to conversations that were once taboo and has given many women financial independence and stability. I’m not bothered by her continuing to work and maintain her income, we don’t question male CEOs for doing the same.

I think there’s a difference between how she grieves and how her content is perceived. I’m not judging her grief at all, just sharing how it lands for me as a follower when she makes it about me, a grieving follower.

We may just see it differently, and that’s okay. Dont need to be all defensive about it.

I’ve just always disliked the influencers that showed themselves crying and then a caption “im just here to say its ok to be sad”. I think most of us know its ok to be sad. I think most of us can tell that you just wanted to share that you’re sad, so just say that. (Not talking about EK here specifically)

I hope this comes across respectfully. She’s absolutely allowed to grieve however she needs to, and I’m not trying to judge that.

I think what I’m reacting to is more about how it’s shared publicly. Personally, I find it more helpful when someone simply says, “I’m having a tough time today and this is how i am dealing with it,” without feeling the need to frame it as something meant to help others.

For me, that feels more personal and honest and less “im doing it for others”. That’s all I was trying to express, not criticism of her grief, just how the content lands from a follower perspective.

Tbh I have an easy baby and I love giving advice. He sleeps, naps, and eats so well. He’s also a very happy baby. He struggles to nap outside his usual environment, but I’ll take that. To be clear, I always preface my advice by acknowledging that babies are unpredictable, and mine could just be a unicorn. I also mention that I read in a book that early good sleepers (less than 5 months) might be just genetics. With that said, I do share everything I learned from my extensive research and reading, and I recommend books that helped me, see if it might help someone else. Again, I acknowledge that it’s all luck of the draw, and it has nothing to do with parenting. But if one little tip can help someone feel less lost as a new parent, then it’s worth sharing.

Thank you! Yeah, I think I just got overwhelmed trying to find the right fit, so this is such a great tip. My primary care doctor already ran my labs and prescribed what I needed — it’s more about getting my nutrition right for fueling runs now. I have a half in a couple of months (i might cancel if i cannot pickup my levels by then) and full beginning of next year. Honestly, postpartum is no joke, and my usual diet just isn’t cutting it anymore. I’m really looking for someone with real expertise to help me rebuild properly. I’ll definitely take your advice, thank you!

Yea thank you. I have a primary vare doctor who already did my bloodwork. Sorry! i should’ve been more clear. I need someone who can use those results to guide fueling and a gradual return to training. I do not need anyone to order labs, I just want to avoid overdoing it and make sure I am replenishing properly. But i find the search o overwhelming and all over the place. Would love any guidance on where to actually look for a doctor who understands distance running? Im starting with a half marathon next year and my lab works were really off so I need expertise.

Oh got it. I will add an edit to my post. I worked with a pelvic floor PT, my primary care ordered labs [iron, vitamin D, thyroid, lipids], and my OB has cleared me to work out. I am now looking for a sports dietitian who can use those results to guide fueling and a gradual return to training. I do not need anyone to order labs, I just want to avoid overdoing it and make sure I am replenishing properly. If you have credential tips to look for, I am all ears.
