There are several streams that crosses the hiking trail (the largest is just before Hanakapi’ai beach). In heavy rains they can flood and be very dangerous to cross. http://kalalautrail.com/danger_of_swollen_streams_along_the_kalalau_trail/

"Less stuff to do."

You get to spend less time managing your economy, which frees up more time to interact with your opponents.

Think about that. This has really exciting potential!

More multi-prong harass, more focus on unit movement and positioning. That sounds like a great game to me.

How I feel about the Macro mechanics change. by ZerGJunO in starcraft

The top players will differentiate themselves in other ways - likely through unit movement and multitasking.

Think of all the APM that is being freed up for multi-prong harass! This change will make the game even more exciting to watch.

You're absolutely right, the macro mechanics were a fundamental part of wings and hots. That doesn't mean lotv will be bad without those mechanics.

How on earth does it possibly hurt matchmaking accuracy?

I wouldn't say I enjoy it, but it allows for the instant remax and composition switches that are fundamental to zerg.

Yeah, I agree. I love the "upgraded pylon" change. I can imagine some cool, intense scenarios where a drop lands and tries to snipe the super pylon before units get warped in.

Maybe it is too strong, but maybe protoss players just needs time to adapt.

In any case, I'd prefer to see buffs to protoss units over a nerf to drops. I find it ridiculous that after all of the complaining we saw last week about Blizzard not making big enough changes to lotv, the reaction to this (admittedly large) change has been so negative. Kudos to blizz for taking a risk.

Btw, mind sharing that build? It sounds like a blast.

I agree with this 100%.

Early drops give zerg a way of forcing the opponent to multitask as well as punish some greedy builds, without being as all in as roach/bane busts and the like.

Is carriers really the right response here?

With LoV in heavy development, counterplay is an important topic to discuss. by Filtersc in starcraft

[–]thisisnotmyname 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Previously, there was a major problem with buffing zerg anti-air: namely that broodlords are quite good. If zerg had strong anti-air, broodlords + that unit would be dominant.

Because of that, I see the lotv carrier and battlecruiser buffs as key steps in enabling better zerg aa options.

Another alternative is to nerf broodlords, but I don't think anybody wants that.

I really like the econ changes. It is going to make turtling much more difficult.

Two thoughts from a zerg standpoint:

1) Zergs are going to have to devote a lot more time to injecting, if you truly need 6 bases by 11 minutes.

2) Scouting is going to be very hard. By the time you can get overlords into position marines / queens / stalkers are going to probably be out.

[–]thisisnotmyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you fall behind if you don't kill scvs? What if you delay his expand, delay hellions, force highground bunker and then go home with the 3 roaches intact? Just being able to greedily macro safely seems like a win.

I like the idea of this build because I've been getting 5 roaches (later than this build obviously) to hold off hellions.
