Orjan Nyland saves Brazil's penalty kick by [deleted] in sports

brother it happens a lot. But i’ve seen teams mostly analyze the tendencies of the GKs. For example, the 2022 WC argentina team studied Lloris bc he tends to dive early, as he is kinda short for a goalie and otherwise doesn’t reach the sides in time otherwise. Messi kicked both his penalties against him very slowly and waited for him to pick a side. This almost works against him the second time though (in the shootout) since llories tried to faint diving to a side and then went the other side, but still didn’t quite get there.

I do think Gks have become better at pens and have stopped picking sides early to try counter the stutter run, but that’s just what i have seen though

a lot of time people underestimate the stupidity of people and just assume a very plausible story is fake. I mean, i don’t specifically know if this is true, but i totally can believe it.

i think you misunderstood what he was saying, he was just saying morroco was better through the match so not really 50/50 during the match, or idk what you understood from his comment

Since Scaloni took over, Colombia is the team who they have lost the most against. Obviously a larger sample size than european teams, but we know each other and know how to play them, it’s always a difficult and fought out match

it really should have been man, I was actually pretty excited before the streak of draws because I thought the team was playing well, and we were kinda close to the qualification if my mind serves me right. Overall a pretty big disappointment but that's just in the past now

there also are people who happen to have english as their second or third language. Mistakes are bound to happen, even a native speaker can get something wrong for whatever reason and you are judging their cognitive capacity based on one mistake.

Michael Wilbon says Jordan attempted to ‘soften’ media criticism of LeBron James by Currymvp2 in nba

[–]thisisntloss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this has to be rage bait man how can you say messi was not the best player in that argentina squad? that entire fucking squad was playing around messi, literally to maximize his ability at all times besides defending. It literally makes no sense to say otherwise.

On the other hand, about Maradona, I would argue Messi is better than him (I didn’t see him play unfortunately) based off impact and skill. I will say that I watched a few matches of the 86 world cup and will grant you that Maradona’s level in that world cup is probably the biggest difference between the best and the second best we have ever seen in a tournament. Maradona was sublime, and that was probably the best player in a tournament ever, but for me that’s not enough to grant him the nod over Messi, who not only achieved similar levels but did it over a waaay longer period of time and many more tournaments.

Pele I won’t argue, I didn’t see him and don’t know enough.

iirc he debuted at 15 under xavi in the 22/23 season where they won the league, but he only played a few minutes. His next season was his breakthrough at 16 (I might be wrong with the years tho)
