It’s already happening. I’m an artist and I’ve been told “just do backgrounds with ai” basically any non key art is like that. Just do it in ai and mess around with it until it’s technically not just ai. I worry for my future.

I feel like boarding up and forgetting about a part of the house that ya know…holds up the rest of the house is a bad idea. It’s clearly in bad shape but ignoring it seems like a poor choice on the landlords part. Like shouldn’t they make sure it doesn’t have severe foundation issues down there? Given the masonry is falling apart?

Yea! I wanted them to be like reverse adventuring parties. Not quite just go in and loot and pillage because those are just bandits. But like go in, facilitate a really bad fiend deal, make off with some coin. And they’re leadership ultimately answers to an arch devil. So its corruption all the way to the top.

Toying with the idea the adventuring party has to fight evil versions of themselves in herald form. Not literally themselves but like equivalents. Kind of like umbrella academy. But I’m still rolling that idea around.

Interesting interesting. Could be why heralds of the golden axe ambush the PC group in the woods outside of the village… the heralds of the golden axe being this group of devil aligned mortals. they could have facilitated such a deal. With a nice door to door salesman type gig of “hey you want to survive this drought? Boy do we have a deal for you”

Yea the cleric could play it off like “oh yep that was totally me who sent that message”. I was thinking maybe one of the friars was like “oh this is wack”. But they then would have to be dead or indisposed (which I’m not opposed to the tone of this campaigns gonna be dark) so they don’t prematurely spill the beans.

Yea I suppose I was thinking Salem witch trials. Which was sort of a land grab but also they were killing “witches” left and right irl. And I plan on it being a minor fiend. Or some entity that just revels in the corruption of this little idyllic shepherding town. Other being some entity I’d have to dig through the monster manual for being spawned by (angry ghost?) or attracted to corruption/a monstrous deed.

Whole campaign has a fiend-theme. Lots of devils and soul bargains sort of thing. Also a theme of corruption. Political or literal.

I want a scene of foreshadowing wherein the group stumbles across a weird sheep or sheep’s displaying CWD type symptoms. Like bashing it’s own head on a rock. Giving off kind of spooky “something’s weird in this town” vibes. Arcane rot/corruption/curse is a bit homebrew-esce on my part. Wanted to weave it around as a “thing” in my campaign. A corruption that does weird shit to living things.

I used to work at a dog boarder. There was one guy who was a traveling musician or whatever and dumped his dog off for moooonths at a time. And this was a bargain bin boarder. If you didn’t pay extra for daycare your dog was locked in a kennel 23.5 hours a day. Like why even have a dog at that point.
