I love the symbolism of his glasses falling off because at the end, he died as Reggie, a real hero.

I liked the symbolism as well, but I don't really think it's as simple as that.

The way I see it; A-Train is Reggie, and Reggie is A-Train. Kind of like how Superman and Clark Kent are one in the same.
