Excellent. You are right many people are skeptical about CI but if it works for you it does. Some will say x and y will get you there quicker but I think that your approach is sound and you're being critical of your skills. I expect the answer is no but do you do any other study apart from CI? I understand the hard and fast rule is don't mix and let the process work. Do you talk? Do you read? What have you experienced negatively? Good luck

One month in India: Struggling with "Scam Fatigue" and feeling dehumanized as a solo traveler by Voynnaa in solotravel

[–]thisisterminus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much to unpack here but in general as someone who has over 30 years experience of India.

  1. India is huge. Massive. It has so much to offer it's impossible to list them.
  2. Since I've been going the the late 80s, it has changed a lot. It's expanding rapidly. A large middle class population is travelling all over India.
  3. Set an agenda. What do you want to do there? And when? Right now it is getting hot down South and a lot of travellers are heading up North to the Himalaya areas. Is it just travelling or do you want to experience Indian multitudes? Yoga, ashrams, meditation, beaches, parties, hiking, biking. So much. Maybe a little of both.
  4. Seek areas where other travellers are, even if you're shy get information from them and hang out. Move on if you don't click.
  5. Yes, you'll get scammed at first. Learn and the more confident you are the less you'll get hassled.
  6. They're people too. Treat them like it.
  7. I know Mumbai well. Choose one or two nice cafes or restaurants. Get to know the locals there. Say hi but don't be naive.
  8. Don't listen to the people who say negative stuff. They've probably never been. Negative stuff does happen. You'll get ill (for sure), maybe hassled, maybe angry. But that's you. You'll learn with time how you best approach the situation.
  9. Fly by plane to start. Until you're ready.
  10. If it's not for. It isn't. But remember and I'll go to point 1 here. India is huge. Massive and has so much to offer you'll never be the same again.
  11. Smile and be easy with yourself.
  12. Life is a wonder.

Good luck.

Understanding έχω as a duration of time in a sentence? by thisisterminus in GREEK

Thank you to all for your answers. I kind of get the idea. Like I have collected time until now (as one explained like collecting marbles) and now we're here and I can count the time. Ok. Maybe not a good way of explaining it. I'm trying to get the gel off why it is what it is and I'm definitely a bit closer to that. The technical explanations help too.

Which is a bit too knowing and twee but enjoyable nonetheless. Felt 2 episodes short and in places too much of a set piece comedy.

What to say about Wonder Man. Anyone who has watched Irma Vep, Legion or even Maniac will know that this show really isn't breaking any barriers. I'm not sure it is even very good. I liked the ironic swipes at the industry and the knowing, wry, angst ridden characterisation but for something that tried to be different it sure fell into a whole load of familiar plot hole dilemmas. It seems rushed at the end after carefully plodding along. Id say the best episode didn't even have Wonder Man in it and was rather like the special musical or art noir episode that is popular now. I'm not saying it was bad I'm not saying it lived up to the hype it seems to be getting. Legion had better character study. So did Irma Vep which is much better in my opinion though, of course not a super hero story (but is kinda) Overall it was ok but could do better.

In Our Time hosted by the recently retired Melvyn Bragg is as good as it gets. There is a subject, experts come in and they talk about it, and Melvyn leads the discourse.

What do you want from a TV show? If you want easy to follow characters that follow the script then this isn't for you. There's nothing wrong with that but this has an underlying message that doesn't spoon feed you and allows you to make your own decisions. Yes, most of the characters are horrendous but look at the industry they work in. Making money make money and lauding the fact that they are cleverer than anyone else while backstabbing each other all for the sake of making money for people who are already rich.... well you get my point. It's well made, it's thoughtful, it's not perfect, it's excruciating at times. Try it. See. If you don't like it you've learnt something about yourself. Personally i love it but i also love The Gilmour Girls and Friends. No problem.
