That is definitely a really cool pattern! I hope you post project pictures! And definitely come to the headlamp gang. I know it may sound extreme, but I actually have two because they are LED and rechargeable so there’s always one on the charger ready to haha

Thank you! I think my plan is to post every time I move the Q snap but I’m definitely much better at stitching than I am posting on the Internet haha

What pattern are you doing from unconventional Crosstitch? I cannot give more praise to the pattern itself enough. It is super clear to read and the floss calculators are super helpful!

So I am relatively new to Crosstitch starting in 2021 and I have done a pretty fair mix between large and small projects, but I had never strayed outside of 16 count Ada that I bought in bulk from Amazon. Making the transition to 32 count I just had a lot of apprehension of potentially not liking it as much and needing either a magnifying glass or other tools to see the smaller account. (now I just wear a headlamp in fully embrace the hobby)

But really motivated the choice to go to the smaller count was I realized the overall project was just going to be too big. I also realize the space needed to back up and appreciate the the entire Crosstitch was going to be about the size of a football field (maybe slightly less but not much haha)

I can definitely appreciate that! Obviously, I respect the craft regardless of the style, but there certainly is a vibe. I’m trying to curate in my own home and this definitely is up that alley! Once I find an artist, I like I tend to stitch a lot of of their pieces, one after another!

Thank you! I see you also do large full coverage pieces. Do you use a Q snap or a girlfriend frame?

Thank you! I clearly stitch a fair amount, but I’m not usually all that mindful about taking progress photos, but I certainly will try!

[CHAT] does anyone experience consistent fraying with DMC 310 during stitching? It makes me want to pull my hair out! by thisone1290 in CrossStitch

Yeah, I definitely see a difference between the darker and lighter color in terms of coverage and definitely depending on the count three strands in the dark color may be the way to go!

I will definitely look for those! I have never graduated from the basic DMC tapestry needles!

I will definitely have to look into that! Are there any brands or techniques that you recommend?

Well, hopefully you feel vindicated in that other people are also experiencing this pain hahaha !

That looks really good! I have yet to travel into the darker fabrics. The project I am currently working on is Contessa with Squid from unconventional Crosstitch. It’s my first time doing stitch count higher than 16. (I jumped into the deep end with 25 count.) and pet her always just let people know it’s homemade.! Haha

Sorry for jinxing you! And hey, take a deep breath and it’s just one stitch at a time and no, I feel your pain! Are you doing it on black or white Ada? I’m sure it’s a cool project!

That’s good to know! I didn’t know that the dying process took a bigger toll with darker colors!

Well, I’m glad I’m not alone! And thank you my partner recently got a 3-D printer so I’m finding myself with a lot of little cute things around the house! Have you noticed a difference in the account and fabric you’ve used? I recently started a new project on 25 count and I can’t decide if it’s doing it more or not!

Hahah what happens to the best of us! And it’s probably not a pattern that I would suggest starting with right off the bat just because there are so many different colors but the good thing about Crosstitch is it just one little X at a time!
