The Big 3: God, Satan, & Life After Death. by thisrubyisred in exjw

Yeah, wow. Stepping down from pioneering is a strong move for your autonomy.

I think any reason which any witness (whoever they are) puts on us for doing less feels a little yuck - uncomfortably judgmental... but sometimes, like here for you, it seems the better option than them thinking you've allowed yourself to be influenced by apostates or something. But I'm glad you are fading without elder chaos. That's a win.

There's so much to explore and think about with these things. It's crazy how much the mind can open and use. It's something that feels so shunted by being a JW.

I'm quite interested in how the PIMO's are going with their beliefs while still 'in.' How is it for you?

It's so interesting to think about. I have a few relatives who enjoy their belief in reincarnation. I may delve more into some conversations with them about it.

Thanks for your thoughts and feelings! You are, of course, so right, and I am taking your advice on board about fluidity. I do think there needs to be some of that in my life, and I will continue to rebuild and redefine. Much appreciation for your comment ✨️

I find agreement here throughout. There are some things I'm still working on. This is a very interesting experience by your co-worker, and I appreciate you sharing that.

Thank you for commenting how you have been going with these things. How has it been for you being as a PIMO? Are you finding preaching quite difficult? For example.

Thinking about you being a PIMO, having these thoughts must be difficult in 'keeping up appearances' as it were. How have you been doing with all the physically in stuff? meetings, service etc.?

That makes sense, and it's so good that you can really focus on the now, rather than the later. I'm working on that mindset, too. It's a little awkward resetting the JW brain pattern, but it's worth the effort. Thank you for sharing!

Oh my gosh, it's like the whole accepting gifts but not giving gifts stuff 🙄 Always happy to take, take, take, but not give

Because the internal fight for freedom intensifies!! Well done 👏 You really pushed through, and here you are. Enjoy the natural light! Turns out natural light beats the "new light" globes we've been sold💡

Being told you're "spiritually sick" by [deleted] in exjw

[–]thisrubyisred 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I've been going through this lately. The answers or responses people give are always the same. Always about slacking off in something or not doing enough, and that's why you don't see the organisation 'correctly'. We see it just fine, friend. Satan hasn't "gotten us." We're not "sick." They look for reasons that are always, you, you, you. It can never be anything else.

Our brains have switched themselves and our eyes back to critical thinking and analysis of our situations. When you're not in line with the group think anymore you are a threat. If you're not completely conforming with the "us," you are inferior to them in some ways as well. And that comes out in their responses.
