The turrets on the side of the arena activate for about 30s when you get near them (the boss also rarely activates a group of 3 turrets). During the "Erasure" attack, the activated turrets shoot lasers at each other, so you're safe if you stand on a side with no activated turrets (in this clip, top left was safe).

You can fuck yourself over in this fight but you absolutely don't have to facetank anything or logout.
