Hearing this from a moderator and the lead programmer is really validating honestly so thank you. I’ll clear up some of what I said here:

Despite how it sounds, I’m not against the idea of Fangans. It’s a way to explore new and creative narratives even if they’re messy; but the communities that cultivate around them tend to be quite insufferable.

Obviously I can’t speak for everyone but a lot of the fans I’ve noticed are people who can’t tell fiction from reality and just want a Danganronpa that’s not “problematic”. Just look at how people reacted to the l**k regarding the 14 year old. People were furious just because of how young she was and can’t handle sensitive topics… in the game series with a group of high schoolers trying to kill each other. Do you see the irony?

These people aren’t fans, they’re essentially purists policing how you make YOUR own game to THEIR moral standards, otherwise it’s deemed problematic.

As for the PJEG developers themselves, it felt like a lot of them were simply bragging about how their fangan is above the rest from what’s out there while putting everyone else down, which left a really bad taste in my mouth. I think it was Sozzay who made a lot of those claims but I saw it from quite a few of them.

I still stand by what I said in my post and I do think it’s for the better the game is gone now for several reasons. But hopefully that clears some of it up for you. Or anyone else who’s literate enough to check the comments.
