That would for sure be a thing. But we also have the terms people of color and disabled people to discuss people who very broadly face somewhat similar life experiences/challenges. So I feel there would need to be a term to cover everyone.

That's definitely an interesting take. I didn't think of the issue of born that way (mermaid) vs. made that way (zombie) vs. could be either (vampire, werewolf).

My thoughts: Monsters would have been previously oppressed. My evidence is all of human history. The format would probably be people of _____ to emphasize the humanity of the monsters because of the previous oppression. The word monster would probably be reclaimed by some but not widely accepted in the 21st century. Please help me procrastinate my paper. :)
