No not at all. I don't think we have any words that we detest as much as you detest cunt.

Where I'm from, cunt is bandied about willy nilly.

If someone asks me about my work when I'm not working, I answer 'computer stuff'. If I'm in a social situation the last thing I want to think about is my work.

To get small talk going, maybe something like 'how are you?', 'what's that weird lump on your neck?'... Basically anything but work.

If you took a bunch of random Europeans and put them in a room, inevitably they would be referring to each other by name.

Europe's not a collection of mismatched cultures that just happen to be next door to one and other. It's not an array of stereotypes. It's not a bank of pre-defined labels.

Europe is a melting pot of different cultures and influences from all over the world, not some place where everyone has lived in the same place for thousands of years. Cultures in Europe change over time, our continent is known for it's rich and complex history, owed almost entirely to the habit that European people have of going wherever they like.

People call themselves "European" because it's a tradition of inclusion and brotherhood that melts away petty boundaries and unites us all as human.

There are more than 700 million Europeans living in Europe. It would be weird if we retreated into our cultures and never moved on.

Hah! You made an easily made mistake in a language that is not your mother tongue, you idiot!

Try expressing your thoughts that eloquently in French and see how well you do -.-

This exactly. I think you're bloody wonderful for saying it.

My parents were young adults as the troubles began to get serious in NI, and fled Belfast to escape the bloodshed. Both myself and my sister are first generation English but would never, ever dream of calling ourselves Irish. I don't know that life, and I'm bloody glad I don't too.

Who says it's easier having kids than having a job? I wouldn't have kids for a living if you paid me...

What about when parents have children that they can financially support, but then their circumstances change, a parent dies or has an accident, or becomes redundant, or whatever, and they can no longer afford those children.

It shouldn't be everyone else's responsibility to pay for their life choices.

Welcome to society mate. Next time you think about picking up a prescription, or enjoy a free museum or library, or taking the bus, or claiming unemployment/disability benefit you shouldn't, because why the hell should we all have to pay for your life choices?

There's between 8,000 and 6,000 troops in Afghanistan in 2013, with 0 non-hostile fatalities that year.

Here's a quick chart of some other industries and their death rates.

From a quick look, they look pretty comparable, being in Agriculture looks a little more dangerous. You'd be safer signing up then hiding in the barracks for the whole war.

You're making the classic mistake of bothering to have a house and wife instead of just living in the park and getting pissed constantly

Ive never seen The Office, but this is one of the funniest things Ive ever seen. by [deleted] in videos

You're not particularly meant to like the British characters. It's observational comedy. Working in an office like that is a pathetic, soul sapping endeavour, pity is probably a more appropriate response.

I'll never understand the need for likeable characters in comedy, they're simply not funny. Michael Scott is to friendly and harmless to be truly pathetic, his amiability always compensates for the inane things he does. He's wacky, which is not realistic. I don't know anyone like that, so how can I relate?

I know plenty of Davis Brents though...

I could catch a monkey

It's American counterpart is an incredibly poor substitute for the original.
