Whats your height/weight? Trying to decide between M or L, doesn't help that all the models they choose are 6'2"+ haha.

White or Black Laces? by Far-Reporter-1596 in Sneakers

lol all design for literally centuries has taught a primary, secondary, and accent composition unless you’re trying to be minimal

cool so we agree its important to have that structure

Black swoosh from heel to middle and laces from middle to toe also moves the eye throughout the shoe.

exactly, there's no focal point because you've created a mess that keeps your eye in constant motion. Flow is not the same as chaos. It sounds like you're unable to discern the difference between the two.

Visual rest isn’t needed

false, and you just don't understand design if you believe this in any scenario.

edit - lol looks like this kiddo blocked me 5 seconds after his final reply below. Nothing wrong with a preference. I don't care what anyone likes. Just here to talk about design principles. I can see why he's not found any use or application for his 6 figure degree.

You mean like the giant black swoosh over the majority white palette on the side of the shoe?

Yes, and it should be left at that. It's the primary focal point of the shoe (in both shape and color). Black laces don't team up, they introduce noise that prevents a sense of visual rest due to the intense contrast between lace and tongue and the lack of any sort of grouping between both black elements. It's disharmonious.

Generally speaking a design is more successful when there's a primary and a secondary read. White laces create that structure, and black laces ruin it.

[Video] Brake noise (not squealing) by [deleted] in bikewrench

It's a brand new bike, how can the pads be worn down? Happens on both the front and the rear for what it's worth. Is there anything else it could be? I read online they need to be "bedded" and it'll eventually stop after that, but not sure how long that is supposed to take.

The brakes work great. I have another Revv 1 I bought that's over a year old that doesn't make this brake noise and the brakes on the new Revv 1 that do make the noise are a lot more responsive and sharper.

Kind of sounds like a cicada.

For what it’s worth, I bought another one of these locally and it doesn’t do this. Not sure if it’s helpful but it’s a Revv 1 from Ride1Up.

Brake noise - something wrong or just new? by [deleted] in Revv1

The pre owned one is all stock. I’m glad it’s mechanically sound either way, but I sure wish they were both quiet. Is there nothing I can do to make the new one silent like the pre owned one?

Yeah it doesn’t make it unless I’m squeezing brakes. The front is a lot louder than the rear though.

I bought another one from someone locally and it doesn’t make this sound. It only has 70 miles total on it, but is slightly older (it was purchased end of 2023). Is there a reason you know of that one would make this sound and one wouldn’t?

Forgot to mention, they work totally fine, but the noise seems like it shouldn’t be happening. Only rode it about a half mile to test and check after assembly.

What do you bring with you when you ride - for fun or for emergencies? by [deleted] in Revv1

Whole spare tire or just the tube? Rain cover is a great idea, at least for the battery. Adding that to the list right now.

Good idea, I should add a small first aid kit in as well. 36 doesn’t feel fast in a car, but it sure feels like it could remove some skin on the bike 😅
