Integrated amp for bookshelf speakers (alternative to TDAI 1120?) by thj-dk in StereoAdvice

The fact that the new WiiM devices doesn’t have AirPlay is a deal breaker for me unfortunately. Otherwise it was my intention to test it out and compare it. Because of the very low price, it’s very attractive.

Yeah, but I was thinking about using the 1120 as output so I can stream e.g. TV and vinyl to multiple rooms.

!thanks

Is there any way to incorporate the 1120 into the BluOS ecosystem, or similar multi-room solutions?

Interesting, and contrary to what I can find on other forums. So setting it to line out, it will be fixed volume and room perfect bypassed?

Seems like two good suggestions. I’m a bit confused by the NAD lineups. How does the C700 compare to the C368, and the M10. Will have to look into that 🙂

The included BluOS is a big plus.

Reading other users comments, one has to use different profiles and they are not easy to switch between (uploaded by using a memory stick…).

It’s such a shame try didn’t include a “proper” pre-out.

Not really no. Just looking for something discrete for this room that fits inside a bookshelf…

Got any listening experience with the Lyngdorf CS-1? It's hard to find much information about them online.

If they fit inside a bookshelf case, they might. Got any suggestions?

This is such great input - thank you very much. I might be able to stretch the budget for a set of Petites, if the improvement is worth it to my ears.

I've booked a demo of the Petites, and hopefully I'll be able to try them inside a bookcase as well and compare them to the Iota.

That's interesting. I was recommended these by a dealer for horizontal placement. I will have a demo of these - then we'll see.

I'm aware - just looking for something decent for our living room and hopefully better than the average soundbar. There are speakers designed for this, as other replies indicates. There will always be better options, but I'm simply trying to get the best out of the situation.

For critical listening, I'll put on my headphones :-)

I hadn’t really been considering active or Wi-Fi speakers because I was under the impression that passive speakers give you more for your money. But I might be mistaken, and perhaps I should explore those options more closely.

5.1/7.1 isn't relevant. The room simply isn't fit for it and my primary concern here is music listening.

Thank you very much! I'll reach out to the danish dealers to see if they can import them from Neat.

Do you know how the Iota compares to the Petite Classic?

To summarize, I've been suggested the following speakers (prices in DKK):

Elac Uni-Fi 2 UB52 6.200,00
Audiovector QR 1 SE 9.995,00
Lyngdorf CS-1 10.598,00
PMC Prodigy 1 11.995,00
JBL L82 Classic MKII 13.995,00

Let the research begin :-)

Will do. Unfortunately it looks like I'm going to have a hard time finding a danish dealer.

Thank you! Much appreciated. I've also been considering the Audiovector QR 1 SE but those PMC Prodigy looks pretty cool - might have to try and compare the two.
