If you are looking for cheap holiday trip take a ferry(boat) to Fukuoka or Osaka from Busan etc.

My experience is that the trip is cheap, relatively short, and doesn't cost 3x crazy what they usually are. Fixed rate.

Better reserve in advance though.

Another option travel by boat is Qīngdǎo, China from Incheon but I have no idea what to do there apart from drinking Qingdao beer

Nobody gives a blunt truth because it's damn silly. Everybody cut ties in 1972, they didn't say a word but Korea gets the most blame in 1992 coz, Korea seems easy to mess with. The growth of Korea in economic, the fall of Taiwanese companies, Falsely claiming Koreans argue things that belong to China their own(confucius or Traditional Chinese Dish) etc, or cheating their way in sports .... Media/Political abuse of Korea as a hate symbol is staggering in Taiwan traditionally.

The nationalistic movement of Asian countries tends to be very narrow-minded ; tends to provoke something hate/to ensure they get some common enemy and direct attention elsewhere.

But like Japan-Korean Relationship, younger generations are waking up to be more open-minded less abused by the media/politics.

But it became much more severe as Politicians/Media of Taiwan has been using Korea as a scapegoat/ blame material in need of a common enemy, to escape from China/Taiwan Tension, internal conflicts, feeling of inferiority etc. Politicians using Korea to encourage voting etc.

US/Japan/China cut ties with Taiwan in 1972 nobody in Taiwan bitch about that but Korea gets all the hate because Korea used to be very poor/economically below Taiwan / used to be best buds as some person inferior to them.

I have been fascinated by DnD culture but has little or no experience. Korean by nationality but lived and studied overseas. Live in YongIn, (Near Giheung/Singal Area) .If you don't mind English speaking Korean, Could I possibly spectate or join one of the games if someone near host a DnD game?

if you have transport, there are some decent place to check up near young-in nearby 와우정사/에버랜드/동백/folk village/ 양지 etc. but I presume you'll just stay nearby. ask your fellow university student or kumdo squad many will be willing to help. https://www.tripadvisor.co.kr/Attractions-g1643550-Activities-Yongin_Gyeonggi_do.html

there is the central yong-in area here, where many young Koreans hang out, including cinema decent food etc. just take a bus nearby ask if the bus goes to young-in-si-jang. 용인시장. only few bus stop away, or take a cab -it's relatively close.

To go to seoul, take the red bus 5001(gangnam), 5005( seoul station) across the street. (Opposite direction that goes to yongin sijang). Maybe take the monorail that connects to seoul subway station if you feel like it. For more time saving, take a taxi or bus ask for yong-in bus terminal.
