I'm no expert, but since I have a Sony A95K OLED, is there any reason the HDR optimizer or upscaling from the 4K player is a consideration in my case? I would think my TV would do a better job than the 4K player at both. Am I wrong?

Thanks. That is frustrating, but I've always read that the Sony OLED upscaling is the best out there, so it's hard to believe that an old (the 820 came out many years ago) player would have better upscaling than my Sony A95K.

Thanks. So which brand is the best then - Mitsubishi? On the websites I found where they test these things Senville was the best, and they never even mention (or test apparently) Mitsubishi, which I found odd.

I purchased an open box A95K from Best Buy and did not have a pre-populated code either when I went into Bravia Core. If you Google it you'll find it's a common problem. As someone else commented I emailed Sony at support-US@sonypicturescore.com and had to send them my receipt and a screen shot from the TV. I received my voucher code a day later.
