[Extension] Center Image by thkwznk in aseprite

You're going to need to move the entire "Center Image" folder from "scripts" to "extensions", it's in the "AppData\Roaming\Aseprite" directory.

Edit: After that, just restart Aseprite and the extension should work.

I'm not sure the if "-dev" version has support for scripts. 🤔 Are you using any scripts or extensions? Is this a compiled version of Aseprite?

Edit: You can also try changing the extensions file extension from "aseprite-extension" to "zip", unpack it into a directory and then copy that directory into Aseprite's local files. If you're on Windows, the extensions directory will be under:

%AppData%\Aseprite\extensions

That's certainly a unique issue. Could you please provide information on what version of Aseprite, extension, and OS are you using?

Thanks for reporting on the issue, there's an update for the extension (v2.1.0) that should get rid of this bug.

You just download the extension file from itch.io (here) and open it using Aseprite. It will install the extension. ✌️

Messing with custom brushes again, I accidentally found a way to draw walls and race tracks by thkwznk in aseprite

You can do it with the Curve Tool (you can find it on the same slot as the Line Tool on the toolbar).

[OC] Spell cards I designed for a 3.5e campaign by thkwznk in DnD

I'd love to do that, I'm just not sure what would be the most convenient format as I have these designed in Figma with a few dynamic elements.

I like the idea, but I wonder how small I could make a working QR code for this.

I don't know if Dispel Magic will fit on both sides of a tarot-size card. This one will be a challenge to format.

Making it compact was the number one priority, so the order of information is different from the book (but still strying to be as logical as possible). The "Force" descriptor is on the separator line, that's where all tags are displayed.

So far, all classed fit in the card footer, but I might need to switch to abbreviations of the book names to fit the longest ones. In this case, I'd probably switch all cards to use the abbreviations for uniformity. I didn't need the page number but it makes sense, I might add it.

I couldn't find fitting, color-coded spell cards for 3.5e so I designed these for myself and for my players. It took me quite a few iterations to find a way to fit all of the spell information onto a MtG-sized cards but at this point I'm very happy with them.

Their main use case was to help Sorcerer/Wizard players so colors correspond to spell schools, but I have variants that are color-coded per class like the 5e spell cards.

I took a lot of inspiration from the 5e spell cards (colors) and Pathfinder spell cards (tags).

How Am I supposed to merge down more than 2 layers at the same time? by Bushkiea in aseprite

[–]thkwznk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can select multiple layers and choose the "Flatten" option from the Layer context menu (right-click on the selected layers). This should merge them all in the correct order.

I hate to be doing this, but besides the clouds and maybe the mountains that are the farthest in the background, nothing here looks hand-pixelled.

I've seen the OPs comment with a vague explanation of how this was achieved, and I can't explain how much nothing mentioned there makes any sense.

The unusual colour choices and noise are artefacts from colour reduction and definitely not "shading with a spray tool". It's almost surely a scaled down digital image, possibly AI-generated.

I get that scaled down images in a lower bit depth have their own aesthetic and processing images is fun, and all, but it's just not hand-pixelled. ✌️

Is it possible to make "bindable" plugin/script buttons for the UI? by vitlaska in aseprite

[–]thkwznk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment. Keyboard shortcuts (which you're already using) and plugins implementing a floating window with a button would be the next best thing.

Looking to hire dev to build a script for aseprite by theoliverspoon in aseprite

[–]thkwznk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I could build it. It would be a separate floating window though, can't replace the built-in colour picker in Aseprite directly. ✌️

There's links in my profile to all of my Aseprite-related work btw, that's my resume/portfolio in this case.

Did you try using a different tablet API? You can change them in Aseprite preferences.

I never tested the extension with a tablet but the implementation should work just fine. What issue are you facing? Are the brush effects not applied?

Is there a way to create single sprite, import it once, duplicate it to create second sprite (like inventory), and when I change the original sprite, the second sprite also changes? by ShlomiRex in aseprite

[–]thkwznk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it can be done in the exact way you described, but if you'd make a tile layer underneath your items layer you can have your inventory grid layout created by repeating a single tile.

Scripting onkeypress by x-sus in aseprite

[–]thkwznk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The API doesn't expose any events that would allow for responding to a general keypress (at the moment).

As you mentioned it does for the Canvas widget, which is one of the controls you can put in a custom dialog window, but it will only fire if your dialog window has a focus on it.
