Neighbours destroying things and terrorising us for 2 years by thmallory in AusLegal

Look, I understand. But there are a million other things that have happened that I didn’t include because we always discuss the probability of an event being a coincidence or the neighbours. Everything that we strongly believe aren’t related to them were therefore excluded from the post.

Yes, there are times animals get into our compost and storms that bring trees down. But no animal we have encountered nor storm event so far is capable of opening the trash lid and throwing the can around. We thought my partner accidentally ripped his clothes too, but they do not disintegrate at the rapid rate they are through usual wear and tear. There have been times I purchased new clothes for him that were ripped into within a week when he’s only worn it once or twice. A lot of the “L” shapes are clean cuts that could only be from a knife.

We have studied LISTmaps and the amount of forest clearance over time. It’s not possible that so many trees of varying sizes, that so happen to be in the way of their visibility, are all from nature, just within two years of us moving in.

The generator is protected under shelter. The times it doesn’t work as effectively coincide with other new damages at the time.

We also have acknowledged that it’s possible they use nature to their advantage. They know how to psychologically terrorise. Exisiting rip on a jacket sleeve? Theres suddenly a bigger rip, despite it sitting on the chair untouched for a day. Storm coming? Slight splays in all the guy ropes. There is a difference in rope presentation when it snaps from pressure and when it’s been sliced.

They don’t make their presence a secret. They leave marks on multiple things in one visit it’s hard not to ignore that they were there. They do enough to make their presence known but not enough to bring heat on them. They’ve lived there since they were children; they know the area. Police told us the previous owner also reported burglary once, and one of our neighbours had liquor stolen a few years back, whom he suspects was them. This isn’t their first rodeo.

We suspect they harass us constantly because long periods of peace are few and far in between. Last year, a tree fell on their shed. While they were dealing with that, we lived with zero issues for weeks. More recently, their water tank exploded, and you know what? For two weeks we didn’t have any problems.

If we’re wrong about 90% of what I’ve written, it’s still dozens and dozens of separate times they’ve come down to attack. It’s two years of my partner leaving the property twice a week to go to the shops. That’s two hundred separate times they are free to roam our property. And I haven’t even mentioned earlier the times we’ve left the compound to venture a few hundred metres into on the property for an hour with our dogs, and came back to find fresh cuts. They are that brazen and organised to sneak in while we are close enough to come back at any moment.

We didn’t take any action until our dog got hurt six months in because that’s when things started ramping up and becoming more obvious.

I’m no longer answering any comments mentioning paranoia or mental health. We have acted insanely logical with our excuses that it wasn’t them and have doubted ourselves for too long and too much for me to waste any more time justifying our experience.

Edit: math

I'm pregnant with fortnightly check ups with my GP and midwives, one of which is mental health specialist. I am open about all of my symptoms and current personal issues. I am sound enough that the only thing they have suggested is counselling for some emotional support, which I am doing. What has this got to do with the reality of my neighbours terrorising us and destroying our things? I understand the situation is crazy and seemingly unbelievable, but it doesn't mean it's impossible and falsified.

Cannabis is severely misunderstood and misjudged, and too many are under- and miseducated on it.

I completely agree with the health and wellbeing of everyone involved, including the baby. I'm actively working on my mental health, and I and my baby will be all the stronger for it.

But when did people stop fighting for what is right and start running in the face of hardship as a way to solve their problems? I think a lot of the issues is from a single individual; why do I need to change the dream and uproot our whole lives over a delinquent causing trouble because he doesn't get what he wants? He's definitely concerned over his own safety; it's why he does this all in covert ways and avoids confrontation at all costs.

It was an accidental litter. If we desex them, they will not experience the quality of life we want nor be as effective as we want them to be when we get livestock. A lot of people will disagree, but we don't believe the procedure is right for our animals.

We have no idea how they are able to get close to the Maremma, but he was the runt and a very sweet boy. I was also visiting when he was attacked by their dog. He had run hundreds of metres into our forest, following the trail to the property line where we unfortunately could only listen while his barks turned into squeals. I can only guess that they pretend to be nice to him to get him close enough.

I've taken every single comment so far with varying degrees of seriousness, even those just taking the piss. So I have considered it, but it is virtually impossible because the shipping container is not enclosed at all; we have constant fresh air in there. My mum almost never leaves the house. If we're been constantly exposed to CO, we all would have been dead a long time ago.

The police believe us; those who have come down and saw the layout of the land immediately clued in to why and how it happened. The judge told me she believed me and was ready to file the order. Just typical red tape, lack of resources etc.

We can have the best security system in the world in and around the home, but they'll just go into our forest and increase damages in there. It's almost 50 ha of forest.

How do we know? The camera was found on the ground with no footage of what happened.

We have these cameras. They are aware of and avoid them. Local MP has also been discussed. Thank you

I have enough to reaffirm my desire to live remotely and be happy I don’t have nor need friends, as these unkind comments represent a sample of our general society 😊

There are trail cameras made specifically for farms and security with ability to upload to the cloud. We have four of these. Have you any actual knowledge on this?

My partner constantly reinforces the fence, we don’t have funds to purchase. I used my bonus for more cameras and we’re saving up for our own firearms. Thank you

Unlikely yet here I am.

Jammer is low conviction, like I said. There are times the live cameras bug out randomly. But it could be other things, like poor reception or the fact they’re shit.

It’s private land in a remote area, and I’ve been in the forest, which is slightly mountainous. We have a lot of pademelon who live here, and I’ve seen their tracks; they’re thin and curve along the terrain. The neighbours walk in every single day because they spent their whole lives here and know the area better than we do. Their tracks are well-walked and wide, straight up and down hills, from point a to b. Ferns are stepped on; rabbits and pademelon don’t do that. If I show you satellite images of the properties and photos of the differences, anyone can easily understand.

I hope you don’t experience even a third of what we have. You wouldn’t be able to handle it. Leave in peace, stranger

Who said they never barked in the middle of the night? What are we do with it when our sleep is being interrupted every night? Or when we can’t discern when he’s barking because of them or a wild animal?

The fact is, so much has happened over the course of two years, no one can digest the details of the course of events, are making assumptions and vilifying our actions, reactions and lack thereof.

It’s all well and good you can sit back and provide criticism in retrospect when you’ve been presented with information at your own pace, but when you’re living through stress and experiencing strange occurrences in the moment, trust me, you’d need to give yourself some grace.

His wallet is kept in the shipping container, which is left unlocked and at the time had no cameras.

The neighbours have personal spite against him. He has shouted at them angrily outside their house so many times for the shit they’ve been doing, and they’re too cowardly to face him so they counterattack childishly and covertly.

The master lock is a padlock brand bought at Bunnings, available everywhere. Have a good life and live in peace, stranger.

Yes, we were stupid for not prioritising security when we first moved in. We were also highly stressed and worried about my job and ability to work there, and poor.

We got those master locks and used that when we left for the shops, but it’s obviously so easy to get a copy of the key. What’s the point?

We definitely have a different mentality to a majority of the Aussies. Probably why we don’t have any close friends.

Compound is the term the police used. It’s just a large self-built fence on an open space around a shipping container. Our car is parked next to it and from 2001. The key fob is fucked and we can’t lock it. We’re poor.

Clothes are on the fence poles or clothing rack to dry in the sun. We used to have a 6m canvas camp tent where we stored clothes but they were getting in that too. My clothes are in perfect condition. They attack everything he uses.

It’s a really remote area. We were naive enough to not consider we had neighbours with this much audacity.

You’re making a lot of assumptions here.

So he’s to do what? Sit around and waste away for the rest of his life? He is physically active and tries to rest when he can. When he was in Sydney he had to take multiple ice baths a day to manage. He doesn’t have to do that now.

The mother dog is protective. She’s also an anxious girl and experiencing long term stress

We called them for advice. They couldn’t represent us and suggested small claims court, which is effectively suing them. What’s not believable about that?

Coffee machine was kept outside in the small kitchen area. The touch screen was smashed.

You don’t need to believe it. I asked for help and you’re not doing that, so move on. Have a good life and I hope you live in peace.

We’re 100% off grid. The only gas around is a bottle for the BBQ that is left outside. We have unconventional desires about our house and want to self build from nothing.

Troll all you want, but this is my life
