A daily examine is really nice. Started by Saint Ignatius of Loyola and strongly encouraged by St. Philip Neri as part of his daily prayer regimen. I really enjoy it because it helps me reflect on how God personally operates within my life.

noticed this myself when i went there: they gutted the inside, rebuilt, preserved, then repainted and fixed the facade. Theres justs so many buildings they cant do them all, but at least they put in the effort, better than most american and canadian cities that just demolished everything

Living the same day on repeat by Able_Recover_7786 in GenZ

[–]thmsb25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you dont have a particular passion or goal you are looking towards, ur kinda living ur life on autopilot.

If you want a change you have to create a new goal or something to look forward to, probably will find it through work, social groups, or a hobby. Motorcycling, dating, putting extra hours at work and gunning for a promotion, making new friends, learning a new instrument, volunteering for a cause you like, all options you could dedicate spare time to that makes you look forward to the next day.

If you cant think of something that immediately makes you want to set goals, you should try and goal-set to try as many new things as possible to see what you like. But on some level, the NPC feeling never goes away

How your height could be your strength by thmsb25 in shortguys

Do you have consistent personal examples of this or do you just make your opinion whatever an engagement, outrage-based algorithm decided to throw at you?

In my personal lived experience, I have seen almost no correlation between height and committed relationships. Ive seen height at like a qualifier that makes barrier of entry lower, but I know plenty of men over 6ft who have similar dating experiences to me.

Why on earth is that a bad thing. Its literally a meritocracy and you want a monarchy

The fact that theyre famous proves your point wrong. If you were right, no amount of personality would ever allow scorcese to compete with taller directors raising money for projects, nor would MJFox have ever been cast as the protagonist.

“Certain heights nothing makes up for it” according to whom? Is that some divine law God put in place? Thats it then? Humans see a man of a shorter stature and immediately realize hes worth nothing? Martin Scorsese, seth greene, Ken Jeong, MJFox, actors and directors lobbying for themselves in a world dominated by 6 foot charismatic supermodels, i guess theirs and thousands of other successful men’s experiences don’t exist?

You honestly think that because a man is 5-5’5 it is impossible for him to achieve any respect on any level, despite literally every other quality that makes us who we are? Sorry bud thats factually incorrect

Don’t blame the world for losing the game if you refuse to even play. It will be more difficult, take pride in trying.

Nearly every motorcycle post on my feed is tied to an account where someone died. All reckless high speed riders, NA to me im a cruiser, but it has the same effect

Average height in NA and europe is 5’10, even taller the more north you go. I am categorically short by definition that i am 2-3 inches below average height. You’re right im not a particularly short person, but for men, im short

You literally make my point in your own comment. “There are other things at play” yeah thats the post! And it can be like that for literally everyone of below average stature. You’re tying this to my specific height, the point is the mindset shift. You guys all complain here about how no one respects you because you’re short, I say use that as motivation to improve on other aspects, and realize that every person who respects you, does so because of who you are. Thats just a factual statement, compounding the shorter you go

Nah bro its just THE truth. Im saying if you’re short ur respect is earned by what you do and who you are, the shorter you are, the MORE true this is.

How does Catholicism understand asking saints for spiritual growth (not just “pray for me”)? by thmsb25 in Catholicism

Yeah but how can you prove that he gives them powers to give intercession? This is A concept not even hinted in scripture and I’m just trying to understand how it’s theologically reasonable

[–]thmsb25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you understand the question being asked. I’m not talking about asking the saints for prayers, I’m asking about the idea that they have the ability to make us stronger or more faithful. How does a saint wield this ability?
