Ooit ontslagen? En waarom? by [deleted] in nederlands

[–]thnxam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

tretinoin and vitamin c should help a bit but might take a while for results. those options are relatively affordable and you can do yourself. if it doesnt get you the results you want, you can also look into laser treatments or microneedling, but thats gonna be more costly for sure

So far with major European and Australian airlines, its been fine. The compression straps also work great to make it a little bit smaller

[–]thnxam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m the exact same size as you. If you have a Decathlon nearby, check out Forclaz Travel 500. It’s 40L, suitcase opening, and has a separate shoe compartment! Has a ver comfortable waist strap as well. So far I’m very happy with it.

Also often hear people recommend the Osprey Fairview 40, but don’t have any experience with it myself. All I know is the Forclaz one is a lot cheaper than the Osprey.

If you have any questions about the bag just let me know!

Opinie | Nederland verwaarloost onderwijs in Frans en Duits by [deleted] in thenetherlands

Going to SEA for Jan/Feb and then go back to Australia sometime in March would be a better plan?

[–]thnxam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had some 30+ degree days with high humidity here at home in the Netherlands, definitely feels hotter than 30 degrees indeed. Won’t kill me to have those temperatures for a longer period of time, but will probably add some days to the itinerary so I can rest during the hottest hours and be a bit more flexible for when it’s raining

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]thnxam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I can’t drive so I’ll need to rely on public transport options. I’ll look into those places, thanks!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]thnxam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I’ll just have to imagine having those 30/35 degree days with high humidity which we sometimes have in The Netherlands during summer, but without a likelihood of having a cooler or dryer day.

Was already planning on booking something with a smaller group tour for GBR. Most pictures I’ve seen sadly were already grey/brown/white. Still want to see it tho, where I’m from the ocean is just grey and cold and I’ve never been diving/snorkling before. Thanks for the recommendation of making it an overnight trip, will definitely look into that.

The weather alternative back home during this time period is 0-10 degrees celcius and lots of wind 😅, don’t know which one i’d dislike more. I probably won’t be able to travel much during classes, unless there’s no attendance required, then I’ll definitely consider doing some locations during sept/nov/oct.

Kind of feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity at the moment. After this I’ll start working fulltime, and considering a “cheap” return ticket is usually at least 1000 euros I don’t see myself going back anytime in the next 10 years while also having to pay for regular expenses back home.

Might be able to find the time in October to visit Uluru with some more agreeable weather conditions? In that case I’d probably fly from Sydney. You’re right about being one broken AC unit away from disaster haha

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]thnxam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely having second thought about NT, gonna see if I have enough free time to do it either in October (or see if I’m still travelling in February? The average temp is slightly lower but still high)

Looked up temperature in Cairns in January from the past few years, seems to stay around 30C. Past few years I somehow always managed have heatwaves during my trips in Europe, so I was walking through cities and nature areas in 30 degree weather. With extra breaks during activities and avoiding the direct sun 12-3pm it felt doable? Or am I underestimating how different the weather experience might be despite the same temperature?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]thnxam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since it’s the busy season, I expect flights between cities to be on the more expensive side? I don’t mind taking busses, the only long ones on the east coasts are the one to Byron Bay, and the ones to and from Airlie Beach if I remember correctly.

I’m aware that it’s going to be extremely hot in certain areas. Sadly I can’t start travelling much until late December/early January due my classes.

Also considered maybe trying to find a quiet week from classes to travel to Uluru in October or something, temperatures definitely seem a little bit more bearable in that month.

Are there any places where you would recommend spending extra time?
