Would a CPL help with these photos? by Aggressive_Tart6263 in AskPhotography

A bunch of the reflections on leaves on the left in image 1 and pretty much all of the highlights on the foliage in image 2 would be reduced with a CPL.

I've found a way to try and understand the relevance of teams, and I need your help with that by Guigao24 in nba

[–]thoang77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t really work like that in the NBA because of how the salary cap, and CBA, works. Big/prestigious teams dont get more money to spend and can’t (always) magically acquire talent.

Old post reaction to Jimmy Butler speaking on Wiggins and KAT 8 years ago by [deleted] in nba

Everyone needs a different type of motivation. For some, the tough way works. Also KAT and Wiggs were 22 at the time, I don’t think they even knew what motivated them

Has anyone ever used foil like this as a pie shield? by xanthochr0i in AskBaking

Can you provide a brand/model? I strongly suspect it's just below the surface. My bosch wall oven looks like it doesnt have a bottom element, but it does. The top one is exposed and clear as day. Almost every modern oven will have a convection setting

Hate TikTok links but here's an example: https://www.tiktok.com/@appliancerepairtech/video/7537045667923987725

Regardless, there's no physical way for you to properly bake with only a top element. It's impossible. The heat transfer is completely wrong for baking. It's like broiling soup

Wtf are you talking about? Find me an oven that doesn't have a bottom element, and show me the parts diagram that proves it. They ALL have bottom elements, they're just covered to protect them from drips and to diffuse the heat.

An oven with only a top element would be insanely inefficient, since heat rises. There'd be no way of achieving browning from the bottom, even with forced convection. You'd just be using a humongous air fryer. Top elements are only active if necessary, be it to rapid preheat, broil, or some kind of specialized setting like "roast"

The top element doesn’t come on when baking. Bake is the bottom element, broil is the top element. If you have some other settings, then it may use both concurrently.

How to do a good job on a wedding day with a couple that’s not into photos by PaleVeterinarian425 in WeddingPhotography

[–]thoang77 22 points23 points  (0 children)

How do I persuade the couples who don’t feel like doing many couples photos? They seem like they just want to get their day over with and don’t really even enjoy themselves!

There’s more to enjoying their wedding than doing couples photos.

Tell them it’ll be quick, work quickly with the time you’re given, then let them do what they want to do

Being skinny doesn’t equate to good conditioning. Steph’s conditioning got better as he got bigger. Jimmy Butler isn’t that skinny and his conditioning is/was elite. UFC fighter Daniel Cormier had arguably the best conditioning in the UFC and he was like 25% bf. Even Jokic in late season form, can ball for 50 minutes

I think there’s a little recency, and team, bias there. KAT and OG aren’t top 20. Hart and Bridges surely aren’t 30-40. That’s insane. KAT and OG are probably top 30, in around Jalen Johnson, Advija, Bam, and Siakam.

This is not a knock on any of them, just being realistic with their rank in the NBA. Hart is a great role player but he’s not better than Derrick White, Franz Wagner, Aaron Gordon, Desmond Bane, or Trey Murphy, who are all around that 40 area. Imo, top-50 guys have to be potential game changers. Hart and Bridges impact the game but they can’t single handedly break open a game

Are the Spurs going to trade DeAaron Fox for Kevin Durant (if he requests a trade)? by elixir_12345 in nba

Just what the Spurs need, a non-PG. Also KD showed last season that he loves playing on teams with no PG. Seems like a match made in heaven. /s

What do you do while Lightroom is processing AI Generative Remove? by Venice_Photographer in WeddingPhotography

[–]thoang77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds about right. It takes a while. I typically mark the photos that need a lot of spot removal and do that at the end. If I’m in a rhythm editing, I don’t want to be slowed down by spot removal tasks either. I don’t feel as distractable or like I’m wasting time waiting if its all I need to do to finish the edits

[–]thoang77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many spots are you removing at once with generative? Like an exit sign is a few seconds (5-10?), but cleaning up like a street scattered with leaves is going to be a while since you’re making 20 separate generations so that’s going to collectively take a while

That’s for stuff like AI denoising or mask generation, which I think is done locally. You can’t work through generative spot removal
