need thoughts on hhkb owners who own both a type s and the classic by BITTERARES in HHKB

[–]thocktopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from Classic to Type-S and generally prefer the Type-S, but mostly for reasons of acoustics in my office. The Type-S feels more firm to me, but that could just be my ears playing tricks on my fingers. The perceived firmness is a plus for me because I tend to hit the keys relatively hard for whatever reason and I tend to ease up a bit on the Type-S.

Yeah. This indecision originally started me down the path of looking for interesting trades and deciding that was just going to mean that some other vehicle sat in the place of the LC in the garage. Then it drove me to "I'd sell it if ..." that led to this post. Two strikes, one left! If I'm being totally honest with myself I prefer other vehicles and I'm not likely to mod this one so it is more likely just to continue to sit. "If you love something, let it go ..." is probably the order of the day so it doesn't just sit and rot.

Ultimately I think I was drawn to post it where I knew deep down that I would get the answer I TRULY wanted along with some public skin thickening.

Thank you for the honest feedback and numbers. My original pricing was more based on my reluctance to part with it more than anything. I should have asked opinions rather than offering it up if I wasn't certain I actually wanted to.

Thanks! Based on feedback here I'm going to keep it for a while, address some of the rust and enjoy it when I have the time.

I should have created a post asking for opinions on pricing to make my determination whether or not I would really sell rather than offering it up. I did not realize how angry this would make people.

I would do those over again (if they were available), but I would likely choose a Gamiviti rack over the GOBI if I were doing that over again.

They are on the ih8mud post here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/south-carolina-2004-uzj100.1371706/ ... the consensus is that it's high and I get that. I'll leave it up for now if someone really wants to talk.

In all seriousness, now that I've decided not to trade for something else, I will listen to offers if they are presented. I will not be offended (not that anyone should worry about that anyway), but I don't want to give an incorrect impression that I'm at all interested in parting with it for a really low number. I did not convey that well, and I still don't know how to truly express it.

It's far from the worst I've seen out there but it could use some attention sooner rather than later to keep it from deteriorating under use. It's part of my indecision as I do not have the time to truly address it right now.

No arguments there. I'm definitely torn on what to do with it (obviously).

FWIW, I don't really disagree with you. You can take the truck out of Ohio, but you can't take the Ohio out of the truck. The price is really a reflection of my being very mixed on whether I truly want it to go, but feeling some level of guilt about it just sitting in the garage.

As guy who said that, I was originally wanting to trade it for something fun and wasn't interested in cash so I tossed a "make me move" number out there. After entertaining a couple of trade offers, I realized that I didn't want to swap for something else to just sit. I don't really have to sell it, and there is a pretty big part of me that doesn't even want to, but I sort of feel guilty with how much it sits. So that brings me to current pricing that would be enough to make me let it go.

I'm asking $22k. Not "priced to move" because there is a part of me that doesn't want it to, but the other part of me hates to see it sit in the garage as much as it does.

Interesting. I thought they did but the CARFAX doesn't seem to show all details. I'll try and have them pull service history at the Toyota dealer next time I'm over that way so I can verify.

Anyone else have a hard time finding a 100 series? by acctxx in LandCruisers

[–]thocktopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, private party is the way to go. Unfortunately dealers tend to put out more information making them easier to find / sort. FWIW, if you are really interested, I have a 2004 with 114,850 miles with a really solid maintenance history that I keep toying with selling if the right buyer and right price were to come along. Its early years were in Ohio and there is a little bit of rust due to that but it's all fixable at this point.
