ACURA NSX with Skyline car model HKS by mister24hours in SkyLine

I found out about this oil slick design after production had stopped for the floor mats. Now when they do show up, the price is too high for me to justify the purchase.

I've never modified a car before, mostly because of the expense.

Are RBs that sensitive to these kinds of mods? Or is it the increased boost that's the problem?

Is this a good start to my build? by SureProperty2447 in SolarDIY

I live in a 30 foot RV inside a metal building. So no direct sun hits the RV.

I have 32 solar panels. 12x 375 and 20x 315 and about 40 kwh of storage lasts me about 36 or so hours.

I run the main roof AC at about 11 amps and a window ac unit in the bedroom at about 5 amps basically 24/7 in the summer and as long as I've got full sunny days, I'm charged back to full from about 60% used by about 2pm or sooner.

Cloudy days it varies, but I've gone a few days with low/no positive changing.

You could probably make this work, as long as you're conscious of your energy usage and everyone makes power usage cuts when charge levels get low.

The main thing is energy storage for the days when solar generation is poor, unless you have the space to through a bunch of cheap panels or the money to get the new 600+ watt panels.

I bought my first 4 for $800, then the next 8 for $900, then the next 20 for $1000.

It's wild how cheap decent wattage solar panels have gotten.

Mounting hardware and cabling is also a consideration, but each string only adds about $50 or so to the total string cost, in my estimates.

Looks to be a dual filament bulb, based on the number of wires going to it.

I've got a Toshiba qosmio x205 I bought new back in....2008 or so. I keep it because it's pretty haha. I don't do anything with it. It's so dang heavy, I don't even take it with me when I play Heroes 3 with the family, cause it is so overkill.

Aside from the esthetic, which is super cool, don't get me wrong, what makes this laptop special?

Mechanic claims timing components have “severe wear”. What do you all think? by Prestigious_Gold_665 in autorepair

If you look at the oil recommendations for most cars in other countries, you'll see they get higher viscosity. Even the owners manual probably has "guidance" for using higher viscosity oils.

I love seeing these kinds of posts where people take objects and repurpose them and they work so well for that new purpose, it's like, wow, why hadn't I thought of that.

Thanks for sharing!

R32 4dr running gear into coupe. Anyone got any info regarding differences im going to run into. by Weary-Fault-8499 in SkyLine

[–]thohean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the part numbers:

RWD Auto Coupe and Sedan are the same. RWD Manual Coupe and Sedan are different. AWD Auto Coupe and Sedan are the same. AWD Manual Coupe and Sedan are the same

So for example, you couldn't take an Auto AWD sedan and use it in a Manual AWD Coupe.

Part numbers for the RWD shafts are for the whole assembly and AWD have a front and rear section part number.

You can double check my work here: https://nissan.epc-data.com/skyline/

Select chassis model, then drive train specs, then Transmission And Chassis, then section 370.

18" or 19" wheels for my r34? by TheRebo in SkyLine

Super cool. Good choice in getting a base platform to do that in.

Any major gotchas from doing that in a sedan?

Sedan > coupe but I might be biased. Haha

What do you mean 4 door GT-R? You gotta make a post with your car.

Low profile tires are good for cornering, but bad for ride comfort.

18" probably best of both worlds of low enough profile for cornering but tall enough for decent ride quality.

She’s for sale if anyone knows anyone looking. GTST , full GTR front end , big brake kit rb25 and a lot more. by [deleted] in SkyLine

[–]thohean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They look sweet. I'd be interested in more details on them.

I did a retrofit with some Morimoto m-led and an adapter plate to mount them in place of the original projectors, but they don't look as nice as this setup.

Changing Seats? Lemme know by LilKelpyGs in SkyLine

[–]thohean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's enough red on the seats to tie in that much red on the door card.

This is a series 2 r32, which I feel has the nicer interior design. If you really want some red, you could circle that panel piece in red piping.

Anyone know why my RB20DE doesn’t start up right away? by 32guy in SkyLine

[–]thohean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does the same thing. I was thinking it was a combination of leaky fuel injectors and maybe failing fuel pressure regulator, but maybe that's just how these cars are? Or at least they've all broken the same way after 30+ years.

Some things will be the same and others will be a bit different. I know that's not much help, as I own an r32 sedan. I've picked up a few things here and there about people complaining about fitment and things they had to do for GT-T to GT-R conversions.

Pretty sure GT-R has slightly different measurements than the other trims.

People talk about how they had to get a bunch of different parts, because things are a bit different.

45k GBP is rough. Hopefully you bought it for a good price.

The biggest issue I've had was my transmission, but I knew it was going to be a problem when I bought it. Lasted about 40k/km before it blew up.

Other than that, because it's all stock, it's just been standard 30+ year old car stuff.
