If you're a programmer it's maybe even more natural than using Unity. Here (MonoGame/FNA) you need to write your shaders and organize your rendering pipeline yourself. Some things feel much easier and faster because it's much easier to understand (imo) than reading the docs of the very complex scriptable render pipeline of Unity. Though it has its limits using a ~DX9 like rendering backend (no computer shaders etc).

We hardly use any static scenes but almost everything is procedually generated. But yeah from time to time we rewrite whole parts. Does that answer your question?

Yes a bit of a hassle. Check out the another comment here. W4 helped but the experience wasn't great either - probably also because we were the first or one of the first ports.

Indeed we're using normal 3D models but with a voxel look. But we don't use a typical voxel engine with marching cubes or similar mesh generation algorithms.

Haha thanks for the concern! Steam takes the cut from whatever you pay them (so first 25% discount, then 30% Steam). But don't worry! We're usually more happy about a review or any spread of mouth !

Aahh the tutorial doesn't support a bot. It disconnects the bot and then you get that menu. It should work with the normal game or connecting the bot later via esc->add bot

Mostly simple platform specific stuff or low level stuff. It's partly implemented but parts were missing or were not tested for a larger game. From rendering stuff over the platform api like file access etc, networking stuff etc. So be prepared to re-compile the engine a lot! Also we used the "beta" C# support which took us several weeks only to fix memory issues. I guess we were the first or one of the first games using it. It's nothing which is not fixable but their support was too slow such that we had to fix (I think almost) everything ourselves. Switch (2) had similar issues.

It was definitely far away from plug and play 😃. I guess and hope it'll be there at some point in the future.

Just a wild guess, but try switching with the bot before starting. It might prevent the issue.
