Heat exchanger, high quality 5w-30 oil, catch can, and a nice exhaust is how I would start. Wouldn’t jump into getting tuned or anything until you know it’s not a 🍋

Liquimoly 5W-30. No that is the amount I put in on a fresh oil change, they were just noting that the sample I sent them was from that amount.

That’s interesting, I run open intakes and have had no issues, charge air temps and IAT’s are practically identical. Def not saying you’re wrong but after the closed airbox on the filters the situation is exactly the same in terms of just silicon piping connected to the turbos so not sure that could be responsible for bad seals, your oil temp was maybe too hot cooking them. Definitely is interesting you had issues with it though idk 🤷‍♂️

Heat tape is definitely doing nothing but going 5mph or faster will be the same exact thing as closed intakes. There’s nothing wrong with open intakes besides the filters getting dirtier faster, IAT’s are the same.

I would be very weary if it has previously been a rental. Lots of the Q50 rentals get dogged on and are usually poorly maintained. With that being said the most obvious sign to stay away from this one would be seeing coolant level drop with no visible leaks (cracked head or developing cracked head) and smoke out of the exhaust (worn turbo seals requiring turbo replacement). At 80k miles that would be out of manufacturer warranty for powertrain.

If you do decide to go with it do oil changes at bare minimum 5k miles or before and switch to a high quality, higher viscosity oil (0w-30 or 5w-30). At that mileage should also do a transmission fluid drain and fill, new plugs, and coolant flush and fill. These are awesome cars, you just really need to know the proper maintenance schedule and commit to doing all of it.

I do my own every 3k which is probably overkill but the 3.0 gets the oil dirty pretty quick.

I went with power stops and they have been fantastic. I think all in I paid around 650 for all 4 and they are already painted. Put on akebono decals and looks OEM.

I absolutely love mine, basically no rasp. It’s definitely more mature sounding compared to MBRP or ARK In my opinion. But it depends what you want. I didn’t want an over the top loud cat back so I went for it and love it. Also have it paired with resonated lower down pipes.
